Ever thought of putting your engine into another car ?

That's what I might do in the end if I can't get decent traction.

Buy a blown / thrashed GTR and stick the 3.0 into it, plus all the other goodies that'll fit.

you clearly have never driven a high powered car have you...

Well clearly because you said so!

This guy is running 10's on street tyres, so I ask again, why is traction such a big issue?

yeah, and all he did was buy nice tyres.... where can i get some of these miracle tyres? i would love to buy a set, throw them on a stock 33 and run 10's...

its not really that simple a matter

Hey,

When you get your Swift,

make sure you go out and get your double shot decaf latte' with a twist if lemon.

Comparing a Swift to a GTS-T, someone should wash your mouth out with soap

I can see you are one man who either: can't read, is too lazy to read or just plain stupid...

Where did you get the idea that I want to swap my GTS-T for a swift?

I refer you to my first post, you might find some more info there.....

Anyways fellas, I've decided to put my car for sale. Thank you very much for your input.

FYI, the ad has been put up: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fs...3r-t324799.html if anyone is interested.

Cheers.

if youve already put that much money into it and are selling it for that id go for sourcing a 2nd hand quite exhaust n BOV n induction and see if you like it with a bit more manners.

Also swap out for some more chilled suspension. Did that for mine and love it.

I get the best of both worlds now and am content

Yeah, but that's more money going into the never ending pit....

I took a WRX for a test drive yesterday, and even though it was MUCH slower than my car, it was indeed a pleasure to drive. They are a nice city car that you can turn on and drive, very zippy I might add.

With forged pistons, I have to wait 10 mins before I can drive, it's annoying...

Anyway, I guess I've already decided in a way that I am selling my car, but thanks for all the advice out there,I just think it's time to move on.

Cheers fellas.

the wrx is zippy??

nawww well aren't you just a cutie ;)

Top Lulz Eps, are you over the Honda Jazz now your love is for your Soarer? :glare:

So it seems the OP is now Eps 2.0?? :(

Mate, I take everyones opinion on board, except f..K wits like you. If you don't have something to contribute, post your bullsh!t elsewhere.

Thanks for the comments fellas.

Just washed my car getting it ready for selling.

Just on the way to the car wash a raced a VZ HSV off the lights, it kicked my a$$! Why? Because I can't get traction! Maybe a wrx is the go? lol

Cheers boys

Funny thing is my car close to stock and has never had its ass kicked by a HSV

And I beat a new HSV Maloo in my gfs honda cause he couldnt get traction..I was doing 100 before he started making ground (very quickly :P )... Moral...buy an accord....Vtec yo!!!!!!!!

But seriously a WRX probably is a better daily. Id like one for the lady, we only got an accord cause the she wasnt old enough to have a turbo... :(

EDIT

maybe we are missing the real point here...that is your GF is driving a swift  Shame on her for making you want something that is comfy and economical and practical...I hate to break it to you mate but maybe its not the car that needs to go..

anyway

must be current model wrx. you buy it and i wll like you. you get an older one. i will do a burnout on your lawn. it will upset you as you will have less lawn.

+ 1 I remember driving my dad's old EA falcon and owning a guy in new SS commodore in the traffic light GP (to the speed limit, at least thats the way I do it), it had just stopped raining and he was all over the show it was hilarious, naturally about 400m down the road he comes flying past at 150+km/h while i'm putting along doing 80km/h

Whats wrong with the old WRX's back when you could have a penis and like women but still drive one? I do make an exception for coming 2011 WRX Sedan which looks like it might be a very good car

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
