I'm running an hks 2835 pro s which is a modified 3071

car makes 285rwkw on bp ultimate and 325rwkw on powerplus e85

that's 381 and 435 hp respectively

the car has been making this power on stock internals for 2 years now and sees a lot of limiter time

a 3076 will just nudge over my power levels by a few kw.

A z32 afm is an airflow metre from a z32 and will be required to support that kinda airflow

your clutch will hold, but as a single HD won't last forever

Fmic will be fine

as for the stock internals, of course it is a gamble and it could go pop.... But that is life and it's just a gamble you take

My car wouldnt see a great deal of the limiter as its just going to be for street use.

The car was bog stock when i got it and i have just be doing the breathing mods mainly but now want to up the levels.

So this really is the maximum power youl get before mass amounts of money are required. And 450 at the wheels is a pretty nice amount.

What is the fuel rail??? i have seen a few around but it hasnt been mentioned as something id need, any help there???

Stock fuel rail is more than adequate for these power levels :ninja:

also don't forget that without spending a few grand on suspension and diff, a 300rwkw is next to pointless

if the car is purely for street use I'd be looking at a highflow turbo, intank fuelpump, injectors, afm, return flow cooler, stock or stock looking airbox and nistune if it's available for gtt's. Shoot for 250-270 rwkw which os more than enough for street use

Hi mate, yeah its going to be purely for street use, what u mentioned is sounding pretty bloody good at the 250-270rwkw.

Would i need an ecu or would they remap the old one when it gets tuned??

And what would be the best order to get this done, im assuming that the turbo would be the last thing on the list??

front mount which already have, fuel pump and injectors, afm, and then the turbo last?? or get a new turbo and put it in but run only run low levels until the others are done??

Appreciate your help mate.

Turbo has to come last and ecu first as you will need it to handle bigger injectors and afm

Is that buying a new ecu or get it remapped and let them know whats going to be happening to the car??

As for afm, would the bosch z32 afm be suitable for this??

And injectors, something around 500cc???

Not sure what the e85 or z32afm are??

No offense dude, but if you're asking these sort of questions, 500whp isn't for you...

Bosch afm is correct

you need to have a standalone ecu OR a remap done for the bigger injectors and then again when the turbo goes on

it's cheaper in the long run to do it all at once

500cc's will suffice, but given the price difference is minimal I'd be looking at 700's

couldn't agree more! and a much quicker way of doing it, instead of having your car off the road all the time to have work done to it...

i disagree

y would the kid sell his car to go buy a car that has been built by someone else.

ppl dont build 300-400kw cars to cruise around in, theu build them to thrash them.

ive just started my build up and there is no way i would have done it on a car that was already modified i bought a stock car and started from scratch.

Ok no worries, would it be ok to do it all with minimal driving and get a first and final tune up done when finished??

Because you let someone else sink the 20k into it...

If the car has been built properly, there should be no issue with it being driven hard at all and resulting condition.

Starting from scratch just costs you more for the same end result really.

I know a number of people who've picked up well modified examples that are still fine 2-3 years on... absolute bargain and saved them a good 10-15k.

I have to agree with ash here...

If I was to do it again I would definately buy a built car.

Sure it's nice and romantic to DIY it, but in the long run it will just cost you an ass load of dollars

you can always buy a car that has a known history from a club member

if I was building a 34, personally I'd just max out the stock fuel system, strap on a highflow & ecu and shoot for 230rwkw

Then I'd bomb 5k into handling mods and have an insanely fun car...

That or buy a built one...

I love my 300rwkw car, but if I had my time again I'd let some other sucker pay for it

Well all im thinking of doing is changing the fuel pump and injectors. the afm, and when the time comes, a 350hp turbo.

That there as you said should hopefully get to 250rwkw and il be stoked for a street car.

nistune

would i be ok doing my setup and getting nistune installed and obviously tuned when i am finished.

Or would i need to have it installed before and tuned. do what i want to do and when finished have a retune.

Budget is tight so if i could get away with leaving it till the end, that would be good????

Soon as you changes things like AFM, injectors = retune.

If you are on a tight budget, then simply you shouldn't even be aiming for 300rwkw to be honest.

Settle for 250rwkw give/take with a bolt-on hi-flow turbo and just drive it

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
