Hey ed-e-dee, welcome to the forums!

Most of the information you've asked for can be found if you do a search, and the best place to always start with this particular enquiry is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/M3...fo-t185569.html

Getting a brochure may be nigh on impossible (at least, in English) because these cars were only sold new in Japan. There are plenty of promo ads that people have posted on YouTube, but again they'll all be in Japanese.

Hi Guys,

What is the top of the range in the 2002 models

where can I get a brochure in color of these vehicles, I don't see any online.

Thanks

Nick is correct about the brochures, I know people who have them and they are all in japanese. As the cars were for the japanese market only they were never released in english. You can find most of the information on the net in english anyway if you take the time to search for it.

If you want the top of the range for 2002 it would be the Autech Axis

http://www.carsales.com.au/used/nissan/stagea/axis-autech/

These cars did not receive performance upgrades like the WC34 version though, however they did receive cosmetic changes, sports suspension and exhaust from memory.

Have a look at the link anyway, shows you 2 which are currently on the market.

The Autech Axis is based on the ARX which is the more practical raised version of the vehicle. However I prefer the RS/RX models of the M35 even though I can scrape front and back on most raised driveways etc if I'm not too careful lol They handle quiet solid after aftermarket suspension is put in (mine has the Nismo S-Tune's).

Thanks guys. I'll have to learn japanese Lol.

one other think, can a tow bar be fitted to these vehicles , all the ones I've seen don't seem to have one?.

Yes...My RX4 has a tow bar. It's rated to 1200kg and doesn't even notice my boat. I haven't given the rally car a tow yet...I'll wait until I'm feeling a little more adventurous for that one.

just depends on what you plan on hauling, you have to be careful of the alloy sub frame. If you want to haul big weights you would have to go for the WC34 Stagea.

confirm the weight rating before you go ahead to avoid any potential problems.

As quoted above my comment you will be ok up to 1200kg's, anything above that would be a dangerous risk.

Just make sure you get a good reliable mob to do a professional fitment.

Hey Ed, M35 Brochure scans can be found here.

The M35's are beautiful cars. I just recently bought one.

They're extremely comfortable, roomy, look very modern (most people think it's a 2007'+ car), and have awesome torque.

You won't be disappointed.

I'm very happy with mine.

Chicks dig it, too. I recently drove home a three of my lady friends and they loved it (especially the screen showing fuel consumption :( ). They couldn't get over it.

Good luck bro.

Before anyone else picks up on it, I was just reading the brochures and comments and it appears that the Autech Axis was NOT created from the AR-X model. News to me, did they start with an RX and boost the height and clearance or something?

Anyway, just wanted to correct myself before someone else got to do it :(

That's correct.....The Autech Axis did not come standard with LSD, TV, V-Hicas, VQ25det ect......unless it was optioned from the base model ordered from Nissan.....not saying that they didn't do the conversions to the AR-X.....but they are rare.

Yep I rate the Autech AXIS as the ducks guts

Debatable.

Whilst I prefer their appearance and stance, the ARX has more features as standard.

Pretty sure that was done by the owner afterwards as they are very, very rare to find.... that and the Axis front and rear bumpers bolt straight up on an ARX so the mod is basic to carry out.

Really. .. other than LSD what were the other standard features. . . . .

V-Hicas, LSD, Leather(shit leather that is....not like the AXIS...it's just soft and niiiicccceeee in the AXIS :( ),18 wheels, 235/55/18 tyres, wider track, raised suspension & wheels arch's. From what I can remember that was it.

each model get's there own little perk's......comes down to what you really want or need I guess.

Ok so its just LSD & V-Hicas . . . Yes my leather is soft and nice but needs nourishment, the versions are the same

Sadly I was forced to take my AXIS with those annoying double sunroofs and bose stereo with sub. . . :( only thing it didn't come with was an easy to upgrade engine.

I know the pain of having sunroofs come with it! :D ........I know the pain even better on the engine :D but we are getting there....300AWKW's without cracking the motor open is coming with another certain member on here :D

Difficult to modify engine? Bah! Easier to get decent numbers from than other 2.5L turbo Nissan engines :P

Just a shame that there are minimal all off the shelf parts (the main power getting mods seem quite obvious in hindsight)

Does seem like it is quite an impressive engine though.

Hi jetwreck,, tell me more !, is there a problem with the sunroofs, what seems to be the problem with the engine, turbo too weak ?.

I'm down in Sydney next month looking for stageas,

No problem with the sunroofs... if you are under 6 foot.

The engine is strangled and the turbo.... well... ceramic exhaust wheel + 11-14psi boost from factory = KABOOM

Do a search, there is heaps on this topic (dating back a couple of years when they first started failing).

They were a factory replaced item on either 80,000 or 100,000km service in Japan.

    • Yeah, I'm not interested in wetting the carpets, and I don't care about brown dirt/dust that lives deep in the pile or underneath. It's not like I crawl around on them in my birthday suit or eat dropped food off them (because there is never any open food in my car). The seats are alcantara (cheap Chinese imitation alcantara, to be sure!) with barely 1" of foam pad behind the surface. That's not getting wet either. Any car that I would be happy to get the interior wet, I would not care to put the effort into.
    • We have one that holds 2.8L of water. On floor carpet that hasn't been touched in 2 or 3 years, will take a minimum of 2 fills of the tank to do a bedroom, and that's going AROUND the bed.   In the cruiser, I used an ENTIRE 2.8L tank, just on the front passenger footwell. But it had some fungus growing, and had been full of mud from being used as a 4WD for many years. I can do that floor again, and it will still pull mud out. However, the water now only looks dirty, not pitch black and leaving full sludge in the bottom of the tank it sucks back into. Oh, and, this is about a $1500 unit.
    • This is mine, works a treat for the cars, suction is good, I use the Bissell clean and protect stuff I have found giving it a good spray and light scrub with the soft brush on the head of the nossle for carpet, and a rub with a microfibre for cloth seats and cloth door trims, prior to another quick spray before vacuuming it up works the best @GTSBoy You would surprised on what it gets out of carpet and seats that actually "look" clean, I recommend that you test drive yours when you have a little time to kill, then post pics of the muddy looking water that I believe you will find
    • I think even the "commercial" capacity ones that you would hire from supermarkets etc wouldn't have the capacity to do all that much in one go. I will go through half a dozen tanks of solution and dumps/rinses of the waste tank for one little 2 seat sofa. Or similar for one 6 footish rug. That's the price you pay for something small that only takes up a bit of cupboard space, instead of something that takes up the entire laundry cupboard or half the shed.
