Yesterday... being that i've just about done my 6 months of no license...

*Yes... it has been that long, doesnt seem like that really*

I decided to call around Vic Roads etc to see about getting my license back.

Now, all the letters i got after court had lots of mambo-jambo in it as you'd expect, and im 99% certain it said that i have to re-sit my test because my license was cancelled.

Suspended would have been different, but as mine was cancelled it means a re-test.

So i called Vic Roads to check. After about 2 mins on the phone with a lady in the call centre.

She told me after looking at lots of stuff, that all i have to do it rock in.

Pay $136 for a 10 year license, NO test or anything

HOW SWEET IS THAT?

There must have been a bug in thier system somewhere for sure on this one.

Either that or i just mis-read the 100 letters i got

either way. 4 weeks and im driving again. Hope the car is done in time.

Im so rapt! :zap:

yeah, my brother got done for DUI, and lost his for 6 months. When he came in, that said he just had to do some drink driving course and they gave it back after he'd done that.

Imagine doing the test again when you'd be driving for like 10 years or something - it would be funny.. "now let the clutch out slowly, slowly, don't stall"..

The amount of times they want you to check mirrors and shit is such a pain in the ass when doing the test.

:werd:

i reckon i'd fail the test if i did it again lol!

i'm not used to anything short of ridiculous in the clutch department... and due to that, it's hard to get a smooth change at any time.

Im thankful i dont have to be a granny for 30 mins again!

once was bad enough.

So yeah, VERY good to hear :aroused: :zap:

Nah, im not worried.

What is on the system is on the system.

And with the new privacy crap etc.

I can ask to see what changes were made to my record and when :P

but meh, i'll still call them again just to confirm. I've got the time/name of the last person i spoke too. So i'm covering all the bases

LOL, i just called them again to check.

The reason i dont have to re-test is that it was not cancelled for DUI.

If i was, then it's a different story. But cause it was just reckless, and decided by the court.

I just have to do the FULL three years on P's...

Now i guess 3 more years aint too bad... but i thought i didnt have to start again! Oh well.

P's till im 24 i guess. :P

    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
