Try the bluebirds australia site. :D

OK sorry. Nice sleeper to annoy the wrx crew with some mods...and it's a nissan so doesn't have the idiotic boxer engine that sounds like a mower. Std handling is a bit doughy so give that a tweak and should be nice.

hey dude im telling ya now bluebirds are really good cars they handel well and have got the power ti beat a stock wrx also not much ppl know wat type of car it is so u can say its a sleeper insurance is pretty good (depending on your age and wat not)if u are looking at buying one i know a guy who is selling a great example for 15k pm me and give u his contact number and email

hey when i was looking for a new car i wanted a jap bluebird, but they cannot be imported under raws, whiteline do a suspension kit and you can do all the usual sr20 mods, apparently they have a pretty weak gearbox though. Pretty cool car, beat skylines without too much fuss. They have attesa but they are front wheel drive til traction lost then rears come in - not as much fun as rwd skyline.

So many misguided thoughts here, but I refuse to battle wits with those who are unarmed.

Fact: won't beat a stock man skyline as standard.

Fact: not as quick as the same years WRX but mostly due to handling.

Fact: very few with manual gearbox.

Fact: with SR20DET and the Attessa they are very responsive to mods.

Worth buying, then debadge :(

Well i own a nice one and i would put it up against a gts-t on a standing start no worries. The atessa is rear wheel drive until the front kicks in.ive had no dramas dumping it at 7000rpm spinning the rears for a split sec then fronts grab and sling shot outta there.does need the whiteline kit to really push it through corners as understeer is scary.Need any more info give us a yell

I looked at a couple at an import yard a while ago. Tried to convince my mate to get one cuz hes got kids and needs 4 doors. They are a great sleeper, really nice interior with all power options and you wouldnt get hassled at all. Just about all of them are auto though. Just bolt on your usual mods and youll suprise alot of people out there.

sorry r34gtt-r, i was led to believe they were front then back - but you should know seeing as you have one.

skyline geoff even though i own a skyline i would still back the stock bird against stock line - i remember seeing the standard 0-100 figures on an importer's web site and one of the reasons i wanted a bluebird was because it's quick, quicker than a skyline even :)

Naa keep spending all my money on the GTT.

Here is the best article on Bluebird ive found well worth the read!!!!!

http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_0140/article.html

"As a family-based car with stealth performance the 4WD turbo Bluebird is virtually unbeatable. It features a cavernous boot, an inoffensive interior design and NVH levels that are in keeping with any other mid-sized sedan. It is extremely safe with excellent stability, ABS brakes, an abundance of useful power, and it also returns good fuel consumption."

The auto version that we tested unfortunately had a badly slipping trans, but from seat-of-the-pants experience we'd suggest the car to normally be a mid-8 second 0-100km/h car. However, its performance times have been quoted as 7.4 seconds for the 0-100 and 15.4 seconds over the quarter. Without the fluid coupling, the manual versions cut these times to highly respectable 6.2 and 14.5 seconds respectively (remember that's on Japanese grade fuel).

Meanwhile the 33 is quoted at flat 6 and having imported these things for a while, I'll go along with that. So if you have no mechanical sympathy then do your 7 grand launches and lunch you clutch and box for 6.2's if you can actually get a manual. The numbers speak for themselves.

Back on topic though, I like them, but they won't really bother a skyline too much until it gets wet. Crap that WRX's are even a stockie will eat me in a straight line in the wet, and I get wheelspin at 180 in fourth in the wet.

Suit myself? I generally do. No drags for me unless it involves the rolling start from the corner entering the straight. I don't mind, any straight throughout the lap of the track will do.

I'm actually pretty envious that you've got a manual. The only manuals I had were already sold so I had to be nice to them...dammit.

So you were importing them???.If so who was compliancing them as i might have one of your old cars.Ive been a bit wrong in my posts as my car has button clutch and boost upped. But while my gtt is either spinning the wheels off the line or not enough revs and waiting for boost my missus already in second gear, top end she gets wrecked tho as the bird has short power bands.

Ah, found it...

http://www.importforums.com/information.htm

This was the info I was going on in my assumption of the bluebird being slightly faster than skyline, 0-100 atleast (by a whopping 0.06 seconds!)

Admittedly Skylinegeoff your knowledge is very good, but in you're "battle of wit's against those unarmed", is knowledge/remembering things witty or just, knowledge? Not wit by the definition I know gunslinger, but I have been known to propagate misinformed sh!t - just see above!

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
