As exiting as it is for me to have someone on the forum who is awsum enough to apparently have a Ferrari, let me just say:

A) If you have such an issue with Nissans and Japanese cars in general, join a Ferrari Forum

B) Find me evidence of a Ferrari with a 5 star safety rating....

Interestingly, NCAP 2009 top five does have a Euro car on top

http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mellor.nsf...A2576BA000EDCD8

Followed by 2 Japanese cars (2+3), then a Korean (4), with another Japanese and 2 Euros coming in equal 5th.. so of the 7 cars in the top 5, 3 are Japanese, 3 are European, and one is korean, making it 4 Asian cars all up... NO Italians, 1 German....

Further to that, suggesting that saving weight reduces crumple zones and strength... Crumple Zones are a designed weak spot, which is in actual fact a direct opposite to strenght.

+1

Good luck to ANCAP getting a Ferrari for crash testing purposes in this country. Its funny when you read through the back of Top Gear AU magazine there is no crash test info on any of the supercar manufacturers, whether it be Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche or Aston Martin. I must say props to Audi though for letting the people at ANCAP destroy an R8, now thats commitment to safety.

In the quest for speed, sacrifices are made to weight reduction, most of the sacrifices reduce the strength and crumple zone of super cars. The Italians and Germans have done it right. By the looks of this car Toyota has forgotten about safety to build a stupidly quick car. In the end that is what you have to expect can happen when travelling high speeds in any car. A helmet can improve the chance of survival, but it doesn't mean you can survive big crashes...

grow up mate... no one wants to read that kind of elitist shit on here...

go find a ferrari fanboi forum where comments like that will earn you a reacharound from a rich fag while you all bukakki some hundred dollar bills

+11ty. what a homo.

what are you doing on a nissan forum anyway?

and this is your sig?

The car brand I support puts it's profits into motor Racing and stimulating their local economy to make more pasta, your car brand puts their profit into PR campaigns and the killing of whales...

shouldnt you be prancing around somewhere, trying to buy friends/respect?

Seriously? You are going to judge the absolute safety of the millions of cars made in Germany/Japan on one accident involving a single vehicle from each country? And also the safety of all Italian cars as well, how this is even the slightest bit relevent I'm not sure though.

The cabin of the LFA doesn't even look that bad, no visibly worse than the BMW cabin to me. I'd wager that the differing outcomes for the Lexus driver and the BMW drivers has more to do with bad luck, or maybe the fact that the lexus test driver was a frail 67 years old.

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
