SS8_Gohan
hi guys, just a quick one. Someone from ACT called me this morning about the car and asked if i could get a road worthy certificate, i said that's fine but I was under the impression that if the car went interstate, a VIC RWC is not actually going to mean anything?? Wouldn't it have to get the equivalent for whatever state/territory it's going to? cheers, daniel Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/326113-vic-road-worthy-certificate-not-recognised-in-act-yeah/ Share on other sites
Trozzle
yeah the vic one won't mean anything other than it was found to be roadworthy in victoria....it still requires an ACT roadworthy certificate, which is *supposed* to be issues by the RTA place here given that it's an import and modified...any buyers in the ACT will be hard pressed to get your car registered here, unless they know someone who can do a roadworthy certificate....even then it won't be legal as such, but may still get it registered. I almost considered your car on that note if I didn't already have a 33 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/326113-vic-road-worthy-certificate-not-recognised-in-act-yeah/#findComment-5310226 Share on other sites
natett
If they're changing rego they really need both. When i bought my supra from VIC i had to take to the government shopfront all the VIC roads crap + a ACT road worthy certificate. the certificate only needs to come from an approved certifier, not just Dickson. Mine had no issue it was very much stock at the time. If its fairly modified then it'll probably end up at Dickson, unless he can beg a place to do it. When going to Dickson make sure they tighten their butt cheeks as it wont be pretty. Trozzle
I was under the impression that ALL imports and ALL modified cars must go to dickson. If it was just interstate, but neither of the previous, it'd be fine to go wherever... I got mine passed at Lanyon, but it's stock enough that the dude didn't really care. Only knocked me back on tint (5%) which was fair enough, and then the shopfront only wanted ACT roadworthy+QLD rego papers. Maybe your buyer just wants to see if it can pass VIC rego to give him an idea of what he might get picked on with ACT rego (I know the rules are different). Shell
haha yeah probably but if it passes a VIC roadworthy it might be in with a shot... VIC is supposedly more strict than us! You're not even allowed 2 intake mods there (ie, can't have a front mount AND a pod!) Randon_I_Am
i took mine to premier automotive in mitchell and they passed it no worries, it was stock at the time tho... I been looking closely at your car there and it'll be awesome if it ends up in the ACT!!!! Shell
I know about the car doofus! I actually read about it on another forum in which he copped a pasting (Daniel will know what i mean ) But it's registered in Vic right? So it's not "unregisterable"! All I'm saying is the potential owner might be investigating how hard it's going to be here. Trozzle
haha, yeah you're right Pat sad how a car's material value in no way reflects what it's worth on the market, else I'd be accurate in my offer Definitely the absolute sexiest GT-T I've ever seen. Ever. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/326113-vic-road-worthy-certificate-not-recognised-in-act-yeah/#findComment-5310489 Share on other sites
SS8_Gohan
yeah, only 1 intake mod, that's why i put a return flow FMIC in so i can run the stock airbox with highflow filter. would it be that hard to rego? it's definitely quiet enough, no hole cut FMIC (return flow), turbo looks stock, can't see injectors/pump/afm - nistune will read like a stock ecu when plugging in a consult, brakes lines are ADR - i guess the only thing possibly is height, but the suspension is adjustable so that's an easy fix. I don't know the ACT rules but i can't see there being any major problems? TiTAN
the suspension being height adjustable is a no no for ACT rego unless its engineered with 10cm or more of ground clearance at the lowest point. SS8_Gohan
they're just bilstein shocks with extra circlip grooves to adjust the height. It's not like you'd pop the bonnet and see something sticking out of the strut towers, so if you raised the car, i don't think you'd know they were adjustable in the typical sense.
