What do you guys reckon? After playing for so long all these little changes makes it feels odd - pressing tab to look at scores looks too 'busy' now i reckon... havent played it too much yet - cant get into my regular server because I'm guessing Game Arena hasnt updated their servers with the new CSS stuff yet.

Oh and when you press F10 it doesnt close the whole game down straight away anymore - it actually ask you if you want to quit now... damn cant trick n00bz anymore :verymad:

I noticed my PC chugging like an animal @ 4am this morning and my net slowed... fking big update it was too!

Took me a good 10mins to D/L it i think

I've not actually played it yet - i will have a look over the w/e.

I'll ask my bro what he thinks given he lives on the game haha, he might have more opinion!

will have to check this update

theres a massive sale on steam atm

This has completely ruined the game... It will also ruin competition. I liked it as what it was before. And I'm pretty sure 80-90% of the CS:S community agree.

thought they still used cs 1.5/1.6 for proper comps?

^ you need better internets :)

Care to elaborate for us that are perhaps not that indepth?

I've put a fair bit of time into it today... its alright but I like it before - more simple. They've made things seems a bit gimmicky - e.g. achievments, MVP, score board looks too busy etc etc...

I jumped on last weekend, why isn't there any gungame servers anymore?

The new Source engine doesn't understand the current metamod plugins, which include sourcemod. Source mod is needed to make these "mods" run. (GG, DM ect.) That's why you can sometimes see Node servers having no time limits with some people having 200+ kills.

It's like trying to run a 64bit program in a 32bit OS.

They use 1.6 for the world leagues. It still doesn't mean Source cannot have its own competitions. Cevo is an online organisation who hosts ladders and comps, in which, they include the game CS: Source. (And a hell of a lot of other games, Including on XBOX360!) Even CEVO's CS:S matches are not able to run because they rely on source mod to keep everything in order.

But yes, 1.6 is still the preferred competition game when choosing between 1.6 and Source.

Surely, just don't kill me for my tripple post... D:

You may or may not know, But australia's version of CSS is now censored along with germany. This means, No blood, and when you kill someone, they kneel down, lay down on their belly with their hands on their head. (Surrendering, Shown in the link below)

The player list overlay (when you press TAB) is now a lot more busy, A lot of players usually hold TAB and play at the same time (or even for a few seconds), now with it soo busy, the playerlist covers most of the screen (ie. You can't really have it on and still be able to see what's going on)

Now all the popup stuff, get an achievement, get your screen blocked, get killed. Kill 4 people, get MVP, and die by the 5th person, (ie. in a competition, the round ends, but there is still 2-3 seconds where you are still able to run around, you CAN still die and loose your gun, and have no money afterwards depending on which team won)

IMHO this update was NOT NEEDED. Yes maybe the update would be good for the server side letting the core being able to run on more than 2 cores, but that's it... Graphics aren't that much different, Useless crap. Counterstrike was made purely for shoot, kill, respawn. THATS IT. It IS a pure FPS. No extras. And valve decides to kill it adding crap which makes the gameplay for other people worse. 1.6 is still going really strong, why? Because they didn't add crappy achievements like they did in Counter Strike: Condition Zero. Player figures show that 1.6 is easily more popular than CS:CZ. Why? The extra crap... People play this game just for its simpleness.

A lot of players have stopped playing because of this update... Valve's to blame.

PS. Some people might not have the censor, I don't know why. But its luck... ;)

Hope that kind of cleared things up. I'm not that good in writing.. >.>

    • My thinking is that if the O2 sensor is shot then your entire above described experience is pure placebo.
    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
