I should be safe in assuming we are all paying the same/similar amount but just wanted some feedback.

My m35 is due for registration in 3 weeks time, the RTA side of things is $407.00 this year, $11.00 up on last year ($396.00).

What are you guys paying?

Just seems expensive, is it because it's an import or because the government likes to bend us over just as much as nissan australia? :)

The only other vehicle I have registered this year was my motorbike and it was only $100 and something.

Anyway, just thought I would put it out there to see :(

Sorry I'm in Qld but I would love to only pay $400. I just paid 12 months over $800

sorry misread your post. Our rta side of it is about that much too

yeah, minus greenslip of course!! my greenslip this year is $480 :) can't remember who it's through but I might have to shop around this year :(

Yep mines due in a few weeks too $407

Thanks heaps for that man, it's always good to check these things. The RTA doesn't "always" get it right if you know what I mean?! :(

Yep, another high quality government agency :)

It's calculated purely on vehicle class and weight. . that is it. . they are not fussed if it is an import etc. . .

Greenslips are slightly different but they rely more upon postcode and age and use of vehicle eg Private v Business, people complain about greenslip prices. . but those who are injured in car accidents would disagree..

Yep, exactly - weight and vehicle class are used to determine the RTA rego cost.

$407 to the RTA, $678 for ctp with GIO, ouch

A major reason for higher CTP greenslips in NSW is the new Life Time Care Scheme which covers catastrophic injuries regardless of fault and the no -fault child scheme and at-fault ANF for drivers.. The MAA have a LTCS levy. You will see it in the cost breakdown of your greenslip. Plus the insurers margin of course.

    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
