don't worry, if someone turns up with an auto NA 32 then you'll have someone to compete with, LOL.

in manual form they aren't that bad, but the autos are slugs. the missus has a SSS pulsar (natro sr20) and it is pretty speedy (has 84kw at the wheels), but i think it is a bit lighter than the s13's, although they do put out 5 or 10kw less than the s13, so it probably balances out.

N/A S13s aren't so bad with a few small mods, but not only are the autos slugs, they're terrifying in the wet. I got about 10sec out of mine 0-100. The stall is veryvery low and first gear winds riiiight out. With a tight LSD (4.3:1) you'll probably get about 9. Seriously, ditch the auto at the very least.

Make a good daily.... Thats really about it lol.

Hmmm well at least I'd look cool in it........cause they obviously look faster than they are. just means I'll have to drive around like a Grandma.

Edit: If anyone has a free sr20de manual gearbox they would like to get off their hands....please let me know, i would gladly pay the shipping or pick it up if ur in nsw.

Mate i just picked up an NA Silvia S13 Qs and it flogs my old sss by far! i'll br dropping a T4 with T3 internals on for some extra Ommmmph! don't know what everyone on about! if you want to take it to the strip keep the auto n if your going to drift thats when you want to thow the box in.

either the engine in your SSS was shagged, had less mods than the s13 or you only had a n13 SSS, because from my experience, my SSS was putting out more power than my mates NA s13 (it had just a cat back while mine also had extractors) and the SSS was quicker on the road too. both were putting about the right power for the mods they had. if you were to then put an auto gearbox into the s13 it would've been a slug.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
