Hey guys, new here and im looking around for the "right" R34 but i come across the same thing so i may have to get what i can and change it to suit myself this is my problem

so far all the R34 GTT's i see (gtt is what i can afford) all have a different front bumpers to a GTR (what i would dream to own)

ill show what i mean in the phots below

Your Normal GTT Front

Your GTR front bumper -

Difference is the bonnet doesnt is shorter and the front kit comes up to the height of the bonnet, so if i get a different bonnet (actually want the same as below) and a front bumper could i swap them over? or is it not really possible?? any hints or tips would be awesome

yes its possible, someone has done that already on this forum. Only thing is the guards won't meet the bumper %100 so the bumper will hang about 10-15mm into the wheel arch but other than that it should be sweet as long as you get all the appropriate hinges and bonnet latch (if you get a GTR bonnet)

The bonnet in that pic is either nismo or nismo style, if you want to save time and money just get a GT-R style front bumper so you don't have to get a GT-R bonnet and everything will fit %100

hey mate, i "think" i might have what you're after

mate you are sick individual wanting to sell that...that is what i want ahh just look at them lines... the kit of GTR with the RWD ohhh damn... but thats more $$$ then i have ha, plus to make some personal touches, mate you are a owner of sex and i envy you! and the fact ill be living in melbourne means ill see that with out a doubt! so thanks for the offer tho

thats good that i know i can get the kit i want for a GTT is there any good place in melbourne area that sell decent ones does anyone know?

with reference to the photos,

the top one is a stock front bar but with an aftermarket front lip, so its a little nicer

secondly, you could always grab the east bear gtr style kit if you are after the gtr look

although, the gtr pic posted has a top secret front bar, a few places including jsai...(??) and musecret stock this front bar for the gtt, which i plan to get at some point.

Pretty sure that's a factory-option lip, though you can get them in the aftermarket too...

(These lips aren't all that common, but you do still see plenty of 'em)

So far i think all GTT skylines ive seen have that bonnet lip unless it has a kit on it (just looked at a few more to see if maybe it was my eyes playing tricks) im not a hater against it but the bonnet the meets at the lights and the front bar that goes to the top of the lights just look so much more well tough really. its like a skyline is a body builder.. you can have heaps of muscle - GTT but that GTR front is like being arny in terminator 2

eh? Lip I'm talking about is on the bottom of the bumper - nothing to do with the bonnet? (no bonnet lip at all in that top picture I can see)

oh okay thats not a problem in my eyes its the part in between the head lights

If you want that lip by the headlights all you have to do is buy a GTR style bonnet for GTT or just buy a GTR bonnet and get GTR hinges and bonnet lock assembly and swap it over. And then get a GTR bumper, but the bumper won't fit the exact shape of the GTT guards.. if that doesn't bother you then its pretty easy to do all that mentioned above.

OH okay sweet as i think ill take the easy option and get a gtr style bonnet for a gtt ha and get a gtr style front kit but now i know i can go it im sure i can at least talk to a company about getting the right size one or something

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
