A excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded and willing to put in a few weeks of TLC.

Story has it that I had bought this off someone who was in a desperate situation financially, so therefore I am able to part with this at a good price.

I don’t need the whole car and I am currently in the progress of building my own. Going to the extent of getting this to stock and selling it and probably making a few $$ along the way is something that I don’t have the time to do. So anyone out there who is willing and would like to get into a 34 for cheap – this is it!

Compliance : 8 Days left on Original Import Approval – In the process of applying for a transfer to my RAWS which will buy me a couple of months to comply this car if need be. My RAWS is in QLD, if this helps prospective buyers. I will hold out to next week before I make this application in case it needs to go to a different state. All import papers can be supplied

The DEAL

$24K

Car is running and is in Sydney at the moment in the current state as in Photos.

Drawbacks – Bonnet has flung up whilst driving and has dented it, nothing a carbon or fiberglass bonnet can’t fix. Paint is not in pristine condition. I would personally look into a respray if you would like to use it as a road car ($2K I have been quoted)

For the above price I intend on removing

Motor

Intercooler

Radiator

Exhaust

Coilovers

Rear diffuser

Race seat

Cage

$28K

I Can replace all the above parts out of my stock 2001 R34 GTR

Also i am willing to sell parts such as Rear seats, dash, and airbags if the focus is to return this car back to a stock state.

Please email vs PM as I wont be able to keep up at work and if you leave a number I will be able to call you back

[email protected]

I don’t see this lasting long

Cheers

Steve

Would you take 12k?
LOL ^

12k for a non complied shell that needs some tlc, a new bonnet and a paint job. id say the buyer is still getting a rough deal

not to mention it comes with nothing...

For the above price I intend on removing

Motor

Intercooler

Radiator

Exhaust

Coilovers

Rear diffuser

Race seat

Cage

Guys, please spend the time to think about what comments you decide to put up on someones for sale thread.

My calculations has this restored and complied ready to register with a new coat of paint in the high 30's.

I would dare say this would be considered VERY cheap for a 99 Vspec.

An option at 24k for a chasis to develop into your own race car would still be very cheap, considering running gear,

brakes, wheels, gearbox etc are present.

But then again at 28K i would replace it all with stock parts that i remove.

At 32K have the whole interior and missing bits replaced from my stock GTR (With a week to two of your own hard work)

At 34.5K have this car complied

Finally at 36.5K if you were fussy and wanted pristine paint.

Add 1-2K for transport and misc charges

This equals one happy owner

But unfortunately a few bitter boys with not much to do on a friday night :whoops:

your calculations would be incorrect. just looking at the pics, there is alot of work/parts that need to be purchased to get this thing complied. by the looks of things its also had a hard life, so a coat of paint will be the minimum, and i don't know where you got a quote for 2k from but that would be the cheapest mask job ever, a realistic price for a good job would be around 6k.

vspec or not, 24k is alot of coin for a rolling shell, thats not even complied and that has barely any interior.

Okay mate, not sure what qualifications and ability you have to judge off photos taken on the dock in Japan. Without seeing this car in the flesh, you are no position to pass judgement and state it has had a hard life. I really dont understand where people get off making comments which have no value? quite frankly if you will not pay 24K for this car, this is your business, not mine so stay out of this thread.

The quote of 2K came from a qualified experienced spray painter that has had two of his cars featured front page of HPI. Mask Job? would never do this to a 34 gtr!!! :bunny:

lol my bad. I was jk about 12k! Im a toyota clown and know nothing about nissan prices so disregard my comment.

Probably incorrect for someone who doesnt know how to use a socket set. When your doing all the work yourself with a helping hand from friends all it takes is time. Ive seen this car first hand. Other than the hood (Which isnt that bad, still lines up, closes properly etc) the paint work (IMO) just needs a good buff, polish and wax!

Do u think u can give me the guys number that does full resprays for 2k .

I want to spray my gf's car .

I think his saying it's hard a tough life cause it is fully stripped with a cage and Has

I was talking to the previous owner about this car.. Is the engine as good as it was talked up to be...? It would be a great starting point for a track car with a 26/30...

No, complete stock, just boltons as i suspected - pulled everything out on Friday.

Excelent starting point for a track/drag car - 34 gtr in the 20s - i dont see many IF any around.

26/30 vs stroker kit is my current delema :D

mate, im just saying what i think judging from the photos, which is what i have to go off as someone who is interstate and also interested, but not for a $24,000 rolling shell.

in terms of having a hard life, you can't possibly sit there and say that it hasn't. in the state that it is in now, its built purely as a track car, and its also been neglected in alot of areas ie - you say the paint isn't the best, the headlights are badly faded, the wing looks faded but that could just be the photo, there is alot of dirt in areas, oil residue on one of the chassis rails, a little bit of oxidization in the exposed boot, and other small things (not from being neglected) such as the bonnet being replaced and exposed holes from removing the diffusers.

not to mention the amount of work needed and money + time needed to source and buy the required parts to get this thing registered, not to even mention get it running. im not even factoring in labour costs because if i were to purchase this i would do everything myself.

paint job, 2k is either mates rates or a cheap job. end of story. for a panel beater to do a good quality proper job with all windows out, taking parts off etc that a 34r deserves, for 2 grand i guarantee you he would be losing money rather then making any.

engine - 4k minimum

gearbox - 600 - 1000

jap exhaust - 1k

interior bits - who knows

airbags - $$

decent coilovers - 1500

respray - 5k (being generous)

jap radiator and cooler - 1500

fair to say theres 40k already buying the roller at 24k. thats not including alot of little miscellaneous things, a clutch, fixing up any other problems such as bushes or brakes, all fluids, compliance costs etc etc

now im not trying to be a flamin mongrel, because if there is somebody who likes building a car up from scratch rather then just buying one, its most definitely me. but to do this PROPERLY, thats what your looking at, and my prices are quite fair and that is without any upgrades or a rebuilding an engine or box or diffs. i think my main problem with this thread is that you are making out this is a great opportunity for picking a 34r vspec up for REALLY cheap, however theres a lot of standard v-specs with pretty low km for sale in the mid 40's now-a-days, so it's not really the case.

    • Morning all, I have an RB25DET Neo that's in need of a rebuild. Will need new pistons etc due to detonation damage. Would anyone be able to recommend a shop in Southeast Queensland who I could bring my long motor to for a rebuild? Just want someone who knows RBs and whos built a bunch of them before. TLDR - recommended engine shops for RB rebuild.
    • Gday Thought it was about time I started a build thread! As expected this project has snowballed into a huge financial liability, but unless you’re strong willed and responsible, it’s not a surprise. Background -  My first turbo car was an R32 GTS-4, got my full license and then totalled my Au Falcon a week later, so while trying to sell my RMZ450 dirtbike to buy another car a bloke offered to swap the R32 which at the time I felt like I was ripped off but looking back and seeing prices of those now ($40kish) it was a good deal, I didn’t know enough about these cars to appreciate what I had so sold it before the RB20 blew up. Between here and there, out of 12 cars I’ve owned the note worthy ones are a V8 Lexus SC400 (soarer), a couple of XR6 Turbos and my beloved S15 which I had for about 3 years, picked it up for $12500, repairable write off but she was fine, gun metal grey/pewter and bone stock/unmolested until I got my hands on it. Ended up spending about the value of the car and 280kw, 2 demerit points by the time I got defected and sold it for $14500 (also $40kish in today’s market, rip) Fast forward to the present day, I’m in a much better position financially and daily an MQ Triton (great cars, pipe down Ranger Bois), I cruised marketplace and car sales for a few months looking for another R32, the best deal I could find was an absolute rust bucket half finished project for $12000, until this R33 popped up in Port Macquarie for $18k - unregistered and barely running but decent shape, kept an eye on it for a few weeks and the price steadily dropped, $16k then $15k then $14k, that was the point where I was like shit someone’s gonna snatch this up! It was owned by a young bloke who had big plans but him and his missus just had a baby so smartest move financially for them but big gain for me. So 2 days later I’m towing a car trailer to pick this thing up. Roughly 2 weeks and $3500 later I’m cruising around Newcastle in my beat up R33 all smiles and dose noises! It only needed some basic shit to get it going, coil packs and air flow meter, electrical stuff and all fluids changed, 158k kms and running pretty good, nice smooth engine after oil and coolant flush - when I say coolant I mean it had been filled up with tap water, every gallery and heater element was filled with rust, 8-9 flushes later and still had brown liquid coming out but she’ll be right. The car was painted R34 Bayside Blue at some point but whether it was a cheap job or just not looked after is anyone’s guess, clear coat flaking like sausage roll.  Was rethinking my choices and contemplating life, had it up for sale for $22k - still cheaper than any registered R33 but got little interest, next minute I had an opportunity at work - 6 months overseas for good money, so that was a no brainer, fast forward again and here we are with a 50% finished project. Current Mods - 200ish KW according to butt dyno Was tuned with Apexi PowerFC EBC (old school Greddy Profec)  Stock turbo (more shaft play than a Tinder date gone right) 3inch turbo back Varex muffler  Aftermarket injectors of mystery size, Power FC showed 36% duty cycle at full boost so not behd good size Someone had good intentions but stuck with the stock R33 MAF so we had misfires at 6000rpm due to the MAF hitting 5.2V So far I’ve redone the entire interior with carpet form Car Mats Direct, new Seats and steering wheel from Autotechnica, also sound system by Autobarn (mainly Kicker) Also MCA pro comfort coil overs - Hands down best purchase yet, worlds of improvement over the tired 30yrold shocks Goals - 450kw/600hp on flex tune New paint job - Midnight Purple 2 Engine is at the shop getting rebuilt with forged rods a pistons, new valves and springs, ATI Harmonic balancer, Aeroflow 7.5L sump, rear head drain and oil restrictors as per oil control thread* and cam covers modded for larger breathers, other stuff I can’t recall of the top of my head Parts purchased and to be installed once the engine is done -  Engine loom from Wiring Specialties including these options: Haltech Nexus S3 R35 Coil pack conversion  PRP Dual Trigger kit Fan controller  Other Parts -  262 Kelford Cams Turbo - Hypergear ATR43SS3-ProS with T51R mod (whistly boi) 6 boost manifold (high mount) 50mm Turbosmart Pro gate (plumbed back for legal reasons) HKS Super Turbo Exhaust with High Flow Cat Custom 3.5inch dump and front pipe 1500cc Bosch injectors  Fuel Pump walbro 525 Haltech MAP and IAT sensors Haltech Flex Sensor Fenix Radiator with dual thermo fans LS1 Alternator Kit Oil Filter Relocation from EFI solutions and Cooling pro oil cooler Many other things sitting in my garage waiting for that engine to come back.
