R34 Gt-r Mdf Jap Writing

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone that has a R34 GT-R has had this happen to them.

i was driving along the other day and out of no where Japanese characters appeared on my MFD. i pushed a few buttons and it wouldn't go away and then a short message in japanese characters came up.

then i turned my car off and tuned it back on, then it just went back to normal.

would anyone know what these messages are trying to tell me?????

thanks,

Veranga

Tell me about it.

need to have a jap friend handy for these things.

quick question Terry.

what would you have to change for a 80k service in the GTR and when does the timing belt need to be changed???

thanks

Belts are generally changed at 100k but it doesn't hurt to have them changed sooner rather than later. I had mine changed not long after i got the car because I didn't trust the odometer reading.

This is from the NISSAN OWNER'S MANUAL for the R34...

And it's in English (from the UK). Re: 80,000km Service.

Legend:- I = Inspect, then replace/correct only if necessary. R = Replace. L = Lubricate

Engine Oil Filter > R

Drive Belts > I

Engine Anti-freeze (ethylene glycol based) > R

Cooling System > I

Air Cleaner (paper type) > R

Intake & Exhaust Valve Clearance > I if valve noise is evident

Fuel Lines > I

Fuel Filter > R

Spark plugs > I (but should be replaced at 100,000km if platinum)

Heated Oxygen Sensor (ie exhaust gas sensor) > I

EVAP vapour lines > I

Timing Belt > Optional at 80,000km, but to be changed within every 100,000km thereafter

CHASSIS AND BODY

Brake, Clutch fluids (For levels and leaks) > I

Brake fluid if being tracked > R

Brake Booster Vacuum Hoses, Connections & Check Valve > I

Power Steering fluid & lines > I

Brake, Clutch & Exhaust Systems > I

Manual Trans Gear Oil > I

Diff Gear Oil > I

LSD Gear Oil > R

Transfer Fluid > R

Steering gear & Linkages & Axle/Suspension parts, Propeller shaftes & Drive shafts > I

Wheel alignment & Wheel rotation/balancing > I

Brake pads, rotors & other brake components > I

Some of the above need more attention if using the car for track wk.

Hope this helps  And I have to get my 40,000km service done soon; which is the same.
