People,

I got about 2 hrs of decent quality video from the drift day today.

If you want some video of your car please tell me exactly which car you want.

It is going to take several hours of ripping, so do not expect any 48hr turnaround, it might not been untill next week as I have a life and wife.

I will onlt give these people who OWN the car at todays event, if you want a copy I will make them available to everyone

:( (the guys who dinged their cars please let me know if you want this made public domain.):)

Please PM me if you want YOUR video.

P.S I was the one with the tripod in the stand all day

I agree....

I have been to most types of motorsport, and I found that one of the most intresting and enjoyable days I have ever had.

The day was well done and I will be driving in the next one.

Thanks to Aaron McGill and all the guys who stood in the sun and rain to keep the event flowing.

Guys,

I have decided that there are way to many cars to just give each person their car as it would take me hours just to get one car pulled out of 2 hrs of footage.

What I will do is make up a proper SAU NSW drift day video, put some music to it and some titles.

I will then rip it into hires and low res versions.

I hope this will suite everyone, I think it is a bit more fun.

P.S does anyone know the guy who banged his R31, I do not want to use this footage unless he lets me as he might want to try to claim insurance.....and this footage may stop his chances.

P.S I have the whole incident......

I do not care about the POS bommadore as I would doubt anyone would bother insuring it.

Ok, I have done the video,

Its 18min long.....but its 740MB in Size for the hires

and 92mb for the lowres. My home cable connection will only upload at @16k, so if someone has somewhere to host, please let me know, I will send it to you to host.

Looks good with great music.

Let me know if you wanna host it.

Ok guys,

I think the best thing to do is arrange to meet and I will hand out DVD's of the event.

As mentioned it is HiRes (740Mb) and it looks like it will be too large for most people without cable...etc to download.

Please let me know how many copies you want. I will only charge $5 each which will cover the cost of the DVD disk.

We will look at meeting up next Thursday night as I am busy most of next week.

Please make sure you put in your orders. I do not want to be stuffing around sending these things out, but I am also willing to help the guys out that are not on the northern beaches. If you can get a mate to pickup your copy.

Please also be aware that everyone's cars are not shown as I was following the guys that were northsiders/SAU/ worst/best drivers.

All the guys who PM'ed me (silver S15, Daz,Mat, Geoff, Pete) are all there.

Ha Yeah I own that HR31 Im cool with you keeping it on the vid insurance definatley dont like me today but anyhow if the drift was good just cut the spit when i got out cheers!. Hopefully the bitch will be ready by the next minus the f*#king HICAS (and some poor driving ability)

The video will not compress anymore.

It is in MPEG2 format for DVD, so there is no more compression.

I figure it is better to have decent quality video, I can rip it in most formats, but they are either larger or their quality sux.

I might as well use this topic...

I've just finished editing my version of the day's proceedings, just under seven minutes.

It's an MPEG1 file, so it should run on any computer.

I'll be handing out CD's at the Initial Drift event this Wednesday at Eastern Creek, and after that, I suppose I'll get a few copies to people who can then get them out to the rest of you.

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
