BeEnAr
Hey guys, I need some help from the experts here (hopefully I put this in the right area if not Mods please move). I am trying to install my copy of NISSAN FAST on my new laptop but I can't get it to run. I have WIN7 Pro 64bit and the program seems to be having issues running. I can't setup the CD's. The actual software will load but when I try to open it it says no CD and when I try to run the cd setup part of FAST it throws a 64bit 32bit error of some sort. I tried running in compatibility mode and that did nothing, ran as admin and re ran install as admin and none of this works. Will this work in 64bit Windows or not? I have searched here and on google for a while and the only info I found was a guy said it will run in compat mode on 64bit 7 by moving a file but he doesn't say which one. I am thinking I will just dual boot XP or run it on my NIStune laptop but would really like to get it running on my new machine. Any help from anyone running this on 7 64bit would be appreciated Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/328023-nissan-fast/ Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
Just use XPMode in Win7, It'll work then. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/328023-nissan-fast/#findComment-5334572 Share on other sites
iamhe77
Just use XPMode in Win7, It'll work then. Not 64bit Win 7 32bit is no probs.... no need for an XP Mode, just run it. As far as I know FAST is not compatible with 64bit OS's yet... well at least the 4 different versions I have tried. R31Nismoid
It should still work. That's the whole point behind XPMode isn't it? To run XP 32bit apps? Except for the smaller memory footprints and so on that you are limited too, which wont affect FAST anyway. BeEnAr
Nope won't work. I found out today, Windows 7 64bit has got no support for 16bit apps (dropped it as of XP) and even though it is a 32bit app it still has a some legacy 16bit files or some BS. As a result of this it won't run in 64bit or in compatibility mode Looks like the only way to do this now is to run a virtual machine or just install it on my XP NIStune lappy. Unless someone actually has it running on 64bit. Oh well thanks for trying to help guys. Thread can prob be closed now Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/328023-nissan-fast/#findComment-5335986 Share on other sites

R31Nismoid
Thats what i mean. I'm 95% certain 64bit Win7, just setup XPMode, which is a XP virtual machine within Win7, and off you go. Windows XPMode is 32 bit in Windows 7 in both 64 and 32 bit editions. But if you are still having issues - run it completely in a virtual machine - it will also allow portability of the app - just copy the VM image. R31Nismoid
At least that confirms what I was thought was right, and the whole purpose behind "XPMode" The image is only around 1.1 - 1.5gb as well if memory serves me correct. So not big at all for what you get. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/328023-nissan-fast/#findComment-5344667 Share on other sites
33driver
+1 for xpmode, I've got FAST running in one (on 64bit Win7 Ultimate), can also use VM player too if needed Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/328023-nissan-fast/#findComment-5345977 Share on other sites
