ATTENTION: All those buying WHITE FACE DASH GAUGES or just looking for a boost gauge

Recommended Posts

If like Dan you are also looking for EL boost gauges that are affordable. Then Aspec in Perth can do them for $75

Unfortunately they are 52mm but he does have nifty simple carbon fibre looking gauge cups that can be screwed to a pillar etc for $16

Pics will be up this evening or the gauge (which has a memory recall funtion as well)

oh and the gauge also can change 7 colours or so but not backlit, el light up

nice

so yeah obviously if a few are interested i can try and get a better price. or something

hang tight for pics.

any questions post up...so I can ask

RiaZ

nup dude you are in no luck at all dan,

its a 52mm gauge that has a gauge cup that it fits into and mounts separately onto the pillar

i will c if he can order a 60mm one for you specially so it will fit.

strich

i can get the cup and the gauge for $65 for SAU guys, cos most peeps that buy stuff from him are N/A so they buy vacuum gauges which means boost gauges will just sit there.

the gauges are not EL

they are LED

8 or 9 colours

3 blues, purple, yellow, red, green, white (and something else)

the baby blue colour with the white face gauge looks just like the el blue colour

so will still fit in with the theme

Can get the gauge for $50 and the cup/mount thing for $15

mount looks like this http://www.pbase.com/image/24383927 or the a pillar pic here if the first link doesnt work http://www.pbase.com/13_devil/my_skyline

note: this is not the same gauge

the mount has a carbon fibre look to it

anyone interested pm me please

apart from strich, dude for you i need to know when you want one

I will take pics of the colours tonight as Zanda will be getting his set tonight so I will be able to get pics.

Heya Riaz,

If you could see what special price they can do me for a 60mm one would be sweeeet!! am hoping to get the boost gauge and dials in on the same day... they say a change is as good as a holiday :-)

EVERYONE: okay sorry fellas no pics, frankie left early yesterday and i got there to a dark closed shop

today though hehe

LAGWAGON:umm lagwagon if the gauge you are thinking of is swoosh brand then fiar enuff dude....i ran a swoosh gauge in my line for all the time i had it and it never skipped a beat. also dude they aren't the EL Autogage brand which i think is the one you are thinking of.

RC: the pod screws into wherever you want to screw it dude you can make it stand up etc on the sterring wheel surround if you want. I screwed it above the existing tweeter spot i think, i cant remember it was slightly rushed. cos i was sick of holding it up while trying to mark a spot, i should have taken the base off and then nicely marked it, but smeh

25GTT: I am going there around 10 so I will put the hard word on him to get you prices. fo shizzle!!

Heya Riaz any luck with the 60mm boost gauge?
yes and no dude

yes i managed to find out and no they don't make a 60mm, but he is checking for what else he can find etc, shant be too long i gotta pop in there today

here is some pics though

Zanda will prolly provide some feedback as he has installed it into his car.

yeah, gauge looks pimp...albeit very very bright.

reads about 10% high by my estimations.... my previous one (VDO - which, incidentally lagwagon also wrote off) was less responsive but probably more accurate. both the vdo and the dyno at SST read 9 psi, whereas this one reads about ten....

...heck, for what I payed for it I'm not too fussed... down the track I'll get a spitfire one or something, but this is fine for the current application. still better that it's overconservative than underconservative...

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
