Hey guys, just wondering what you guys think about this...

Have a weird repetitive sound, sounds like metal on metal. Happens when im driving at any speed, and if im driving in a straight line, and nudge or turn the steering wheel right it goes away but still continues if i turn left. Had also a bit of a bingle with a gutter on that wheel a few months ago though just started happening constantly 2 weeks ago.

Whats a way to diagnose if its the actual wheel bearing again?

Thanks again

Yeah i did that last week and they seemed to be fine. I think i may have found the problem though going to check the front brakes tomorrow. All this time i had been thinking that there was plenty of meat left as i had replaced them last year though realised now i did the rears not the fronts *facepalm* my friend was standing at the front of my house, and could hear it at least a good 80metres way... thank god they didn't seize. :(

re-checked nuts and that today, and also the brake pads. the fronts look brand new.

in the process of this i also found that my front right tie rod end bush was split in half and collapsed. but i doubt that would make the sound.

anyone else have an idea?

clutch - yeah im thinking its that again... dam!

Also get your park (hand) brake serviced/re-greased - it may not be retracting properly after many years.

I had the same problem on my R34.

Had all my brake pads changed and rear rotors machined - the tech noticed the park brake system sticking.

He gave it a clean and a grease - no more problems.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
