Hi guys, are Skyline sedans not popular --or have they never been popular? I got a 2005 series II---very happy with it --TOP CAR, but i have to let it go. Its been on the market for 8 weeks.........& nothing! ---can't figure it out ? Its black, 3.5 litre and beautiful and asking $5K less than other series II's .... Any ideas???

2nd hand market is over stocked with too many cars.

ask siu_loong_bao aka Nelson - he just sold his S1 sedan - took him a while, he was on the verge of trading it in, one of the exit strategy left with shitty trade in price, until lucky he got a buyer. he was quoted under 11k for trade in.

what is your asking price? I sold my S1 v35 coupe, a more popular 2dr, for a little over $25k with all the goodies. that's about 5k what others were asking on the market. not what I was after, but that was my exit opportunity

sedans look way better it you ask me.. the 2 doors look like they need to take a dump or something

and you wonder why no one asks you

sedans are a bit harder to sell as your competing with locally delivered maximas ...but just hang in there or if your in a rush to sell...then just drop the price till it hurts.

s...but just hang in there or if your in a rush to sell...then just drop the price till it hurts.

Or hope that Nissan makes the decision to bring the Infinity into Australia. Then just replace the Skyline insignia with Infinity, and watch the value climb as the label competes with BMW... Oh wait - is this not a dream? Oh Bugger... >_<

yeah you're deaming mate. LOL

I don't see how those Toyota Soarer increase in value when they slapped a Lexus SC badges on them...

at the end of the day when that happened (Infiniti arrives) most V35 on the market would be about 7-12 years old!

indeed....it hurted me a lot..and still hurts....check out my listing a few weeks ago...bargain basement price...now i just drive a shitty nissan dualis....lol

Hang in there!!

Sedans will always be a tougher market. The big attraction with imports is sporty coupes. Sedans are more "family" orientated and the general import buyer is not usually family folk :(

It's just depend on the buyer's choice. But V35 being an import, it will attract less attention than other sedans. Just hang on abit before making rush decision.

From personal point of view, I still think they are hot car when modded, with big rims, dumped and dark tint. ;)

yeah! that was my intention but 'life" got in the way  --was going to do as per the pic.

Thanks for the input guys -appreciate it. I'll do the waiting game..enjoy it while I've still got it .......then worse case, trade-in......

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
