only been pulled over twice, was on green p's on both occasions and caught speeding by unmarked cars (both around 8-9pm on main roads with no traffic ahead, i might add).

after breath test/license/lap around the car, i was on my way.. another time they rocked up beside me in an unmarked car and said something like "keep it up and you wont have ya licence much longer" and off they went.

hype i think, the amount of bogan commodore drivers around here keep the police more than occupied i think.

Straight from the cops mouth last week, "we have been told to specifically pull modified skylines over an take them off the road"

Every car i have owned basically has been defected, even standard. i have been to regency without changing 1 thing and passed !

I have been doing the speed limit driving in a strate line got pulled over for driving suspiciously and defected.

Its even better when you see them pull shit box 70 model cars over cos they been driving like a dick, rusted out clearly defectable only to fine them an not defect them.

Its really not even worth trying to drive an import anymore =/

Only ever got pulled over once in the 34R but every 2nd time I go out on the bike........regardless, they've always let me go

You must be respectfull to a cop regardless of who's in the right.

Bottom line is; if you are or look young, or if you drive a Skyline and drive like a dick, you will get pulled over.........not a matter of if, just a matter of when........what happens next is sometimes up to you.

I agree. I have owned my 34R for almost 3 years now, drive it everywhere as a daily and have never been pulled over because i drive normally on the street.

And lets say its a lot more modified than just cooler and exhaust.

I drive past the Port Adelaide Police Complex daily to and from work and live not far from the Henley station and I don't get a second look from them. Either because I'm old(er) or the car is fairly stock looking....?

A good mate of mine is a copper based around Norwood and he says he has had NO directive to target imports or any other particular group.

yet for some reason they tend to get more import drivers then wankers in commy's

cant agree here - there are less of us and the communication is better, due to this forum and others

most commie drivers they ping are moccassin wearing rednecks who dont have electricity, let alone internet

-D

I've just recently bought my 33 gts-t and haven't been pulled over which i found surprising as my car is bright orange and i've gone past probly about 20 cops the last couple of weeks as i work just behind the intersection of grand junction rd and addison rd so theres always cops about i've gotten a couple looks but they just dont seem interested which is weird because as i said my car is bright orange and i have P-plates up aswell, so in my opinion its just hype =)

I once got pulled because I was wearing my hat backwards...... no effing joke! Cop apologized to me after looking at my license and realizing I was in my 30's. His exact word to me were "I saw the backwards cap and assumed you were a P plater without your plates"

that is an epic L O L god dam cops :)

IMO, its mostly hype. Just don't drive like a dick.

Dohmar is correct on both points.

Think back, things only got REAL bad after the magill road accident.

Police sometimes sus them to see if its stolen. I cant think of 1 member here off the top of my head who got stopped, just to ensure it wasnt stolen, and thats all it was.

I was stopped by the cops cos they thought my stag was stolen but it turned out that the coper put the wrong rego number in

Hey Guys, this might not be the right place for this but.... I understand now that P platers cannot drive Turbos and as I have not yet got my p plates... (getting them on monday, due to me being lazy, god i wish i hadn't been) And despite these laws i want one anyway.... Just wanted to know how they are gonna realise that i got my licence before september 4?...

I would assume that it would be in the system that you recieved your license at a certain date, and simply ask you to rev it.

Then bam.

Well that's what i thought... Till I drove round on my L's.. got pulled up 5 times... ran my plates and let me go...

    • 12+ months passed so they have no obligation to do a warranty claim. It leaked from the rear circuit. Front circuit was fine, but I tried many times to bench-bleed and in-car bleed (wasted 1L of Penrite racing brake fluid) to no avail. Threw my old BM50 or whatever the standard R32 GT-R BMC is, brakes went back to normal. So from my very limited anecdotal experience, I cannot recommend HFM, even though a lot of their products looks good. Just my experience (I have a genuine Nissan BM57 in a box waiting to be installed now).
    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
