Hi guys,

I just wanted to get some ideas on different chips for r32 gts-t's.

I am most likely going to get a dr drift one done in a month or so and I just wanted to hear from anyone if they noticed much of a difference in the overall running of the car.

At the moment I have 145rwkw's on 13psi, i got a cooler, xaust, pod, 044 pump...

With the new chip am i likely to gain any kw's?

What chip are out there to get and wat would be best?

thanks

Mark

Hi Mark, you local Chiptorque or Fueltronics dealer should be able to tune your car in real time and burn the chip especially for your mods. Off the shelf chip is never as good, because all cars are different.

SydneyKid: Excuse my ignorance, but when you say they'll "burn the chip"... do you mean they'll make a custom chip for your particular car (or atleast have the settings custom made for your car)?

Also: would you say it would be a wise idead to do mods like FMIC, POD, Zorst and any other little bits BEFORE getting this done? Or are they fully reprogrammable and it really doesn't matter? (obviously it'd be cheaper to tune the car once rather than 5 times...)...

How much would i be looking at for this? how much gains?... (i'm guessing the gains would simply be in having a better a/f ration etc?)...

kool... i really wouldn't have a clue what teh right a/f ratio is... just that the guy on the dyno day said i should have mine leveled off to about 11.6.... so yeah, that's all i was goin off... how much of that gain was in the chip and how much was in the extra boost do you think?...

160kw at the wheels just from a retune and remap?!?!?! that's an awesome gain (30rwkw)...  Or does that include FMIC, POD and Zorst?....

yeah basic stage 1 upgrade, good fmic, pod?, full 3" system remap for ecu and a good tuner!!

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
