Why would you agree to do R&D for a product you have bought which has promised results...R&D should be done by the manufacturer before a product is released...not after its sold and failed to meet requirements....

And to hypergear...its BS that a 2530 won't hold 20psi because the rear is too small...even a 2510 or a GT-SS will do 20psi...

Limpus this specific turbo is not released. I'm testing lots of different combinations on mine and few others for the best result. and in general speaking there is not best results, there can only be better results. All prototype units has been offered at a discounted price with the tester knowing what it is.

HKS2530 can not hold 20psi by 7000RPMS internally gated on a stock RB25det setup. There are plenty of sheets proven it can't, find me one that can.

1st lot of graphs compared to the 2nd - its a lot better...

However 4000rpm you still only have 140rwkw, for a peak of only 230rwkw on 21psi IMO that is poor.

You'd expect that kinda power delivery from a 600hp turbo - not a 400hp one.

.86/.82 is a bad rear end choice for a start. Any why boost would be nosing over that hard is amazing... Certainly I'd have issues with that.

As an example have a look @ the two graphs below simply taken from the RB25 dyno thread.

180rwkw @ 4100rpm, that is a whopping 40rwkw more than your setup for pretty much the same end result, and less boost as well to boot.

Now my aim was not to bag your setup - simply to highlight there is a pretty big problem.

I'd be investigating the boost control firstly - try get it holding 20psi to redline.

If it wont (even with the gate held shut), then it's just a poor turbo.

Ramp rate is also something to look @ i had a GTR in here with a dyno graph from a well known shop and it was only possible to replicate it with an artificially high ramp rate (brings it on alot sooner).

Unfortunately ramp rate is used alot to skew results.

Not saying that this is the case here but it brings up the old adage that the only good comparison can be done on the same dyno.

Stao - I was thinking of a 52T 2871 with a T2 0.86 rear on an adapter. The price of those things is sooo cheap. I'd estimate full boost at 3200rpm and should be enough to make 330rwhp.

nah, think 1st gear vs 4th gear... 4th gear more load = quicker spool.

Oh ye look no doubt - but i don't think any ramp rate is going to alter the 40rwkw odd that this is down on the midrange.

20rwkw, maybe... but 40rwkw when talking about what, 140-170rwkw, thats a fair percentage ;)

Hmmm, well here is a dynograph of my RB20DET with a Disco Potato, .82 rear. Almost reaches 300HP. I used an adaptor purchased from Garrett to mate the T25/T28 flange to the T3. I am looking to change the rear housing to .64 for more response. This is 1 bar boost.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
