hey there guys, Ive done an extensive search but to no avail.

i own an R32GTS T auto with a S1 rb25+auto convertion done, so far ive replaced:

coil packs

plugs- bkr5eix-11 regapped to .8

fuel pump

fuel filter

air filter

tested afm

stock 7lb actuator with no boost controller

Mods:

3" split dump to 3" trust jasma exhaust

fmic

pod with cover

auto box strengthend

The motor seems to run fine and diagnostic code shows 55 (all clear)

Now the problem i have been noticing is, in second gear or higher, when i put my foot down gradually i can hear and feel the boost coming on fine, but then the power just sort of drops off, it is still accelerating, but not as it should be.

If i give the throttle more of a stab, it drops back a gear fine and away she goes. it only seems to be when feeding on the power.

I have done all the nessisary checks for boost leaks and its holding a good solid 7-8lb

which leads me to believe maybe there could be a possible issue with the stock torque converter because also, if i put my foot flat to the floor and then back off, even at 100km/h the motor will go back to idle and the converter appears to not re-engage till i bring the revs back up to where i backed off or switch off the car and turn it back on.

This morning i checked my auto fluid level and it was a little over the full line but not sure if this could be causing any issues.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Blu

there could be an issue with the torque converter, or even the ECU for the gearbox.

one thing i did notice is that you are running heat range 5 plugs. for a turbo car you are better off running heat range 6. running the 5's you may be getting a lot of pinging and the ecu could be backing off the timing and therefore making it feel slow.

the colder the plug the quicker they foul up and make it run poorly. if you just get copper plugs in 6's now it will only cost you about $30 for the set, then change them every 5,000 to 10,000kms (so either every oil change or every second oil change), then you can just change them when you do plan to run more boost, but realistically, while you are on the stock turbo 6's will be fine no matter what boost you run.

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
