Hey guys,

I spent today taking my cam covers off, mainly to have a look at the condition and see if anything has been done/changed to them. And also so a friend can polish them up for me, we are thinking about making a service to all SA members at a good price. (With a $20 donation to SA for each one) Hes in his 3rd year apprenticeship and has an entire workshop to use.

I will post before and after shots in a seperate thread once i get them back.

Anyways,

Ive attached an image for those in the know, can you tell me what the initials 'AM' stand for on my cams and generally anything else you can see from the picture.

-EDIT- Ill have to post a link as the file is too big :O

Thanks for the help guys,

Caillan.

They look pretty much like the stock ones to me. The pointier the nose on the cams the more stock they are, the more radical the cams the more bulbous (less pronounced) the ends.

Ok

well the right one has red paint on it

and the left has like creme colored paint on it that has the two letters AM written if you look closely

also the start of the cams where the timing cover is, both are a different color, ones gold and ones black

just trying to determine whats happened in my engine in the past basically, weather or not i have aftermarket or modded cams

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
