hey guys, i was wondering if a r33 aftermarket turbo exhaust will fit a non-turbo r33. i know the turbos need the dump pipe. i just cant seem to find a non turbo exhaust anywhere. i have looked in the forums and could not find my answer, please help!

yeah it should if its a catback system.

just buy a muffler of your preference then go local exhaust workshop n get. 2.5 inch piping fitted from cat back. i wouldnt go larger than that as na with exhaust with drone.

i have a cannon muffler stainless steel for 50bucks if u want then just buy piping should be like 250 fitted.

the cat back section will fit, but a 3" exhaust on a NA is going to be LOUD!!!! and will reduce low down power. as shorty said above, just go to your local exhaust place and get something made up.

+1

When I bought my non-turbo '33 it had a 3" exhaust on it, and it was VERY loud, which I didn't have a problem with really, but it was more the annoying drone that got to me. I got EPA'd for it eventually and got a 2.5" system made up at an exhaust shop, which brought it down to exactly 90dB (the legal limit)... still fairly loud, but NOTHING like it was, and no drone any more. With the 2.5" setup, it certainly had a lot more low-down grunt than the 3" system, which really only started to pull as you approached the redline and was quite gutless down low... not all that practical!

thanks a lot for the help guys. I'm not sure which way i wanna go with my car either. right now it has complete cream and white suede interior and is sitting on chrome 18s with gold inserts, its a very sexy car. i enjoy the sex spec type of cars :(. i also want to get more power out of it, so i was thing of putting a straight through 3" exhaust with a varex cannon so if i choose to turbo in the future the exhaust is accounted for already. i don't think i can get descend power out of it being NA.

oh it sounds sexy as hell, im sure all the women throw their pantez at ur windscreen!

the chromz must make all the holdens jelous!

on a serious note:

for parts - these come to mind:

nengun

justjap

import monster

or im sure a local exhaust shop could locate something to suit.

btw....wtf is sex spec type of cars?!?

Multiple people have mentioned it, so even though you're obviously going to ignore this and do what you think is best anyway, I'm going to repeat myself: a 3" exhaust on a 2.5L NA engine is just TOO BIG... not because of the noise (though it is obnoxiously loud), not because of the "drone" (though it will give your passengers, if not yourself, a headache if driven for a long period of time), but because it moves the efficiency range of the engine too high up the rev range. Just when it starts to peak (as much as it can when NA), you need to change gears.

2.5" is the largest you want to go with NA... some suggest 2.25", but as I've had no experience with this I can't comment - I just know that going from 3" to 2.5" there was a NOTICABLE increase in low-down torque resulting in a much more "driveable" car... less clutch slip and fewer downshifts required as the power was where you needed it.

all show and no go

http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=htt...=1t:429,r:4,s:0 perfect example of a sex spec car. not sure if most people would like it, but i saw it cruise through civic (Canberra) and every girl on the strip was starring.

but anyway, i was thinking extractors, 2.5" exhaust (do brands tend to make a difference?) ,larger throttle body and i will have a car will abit of go but much more efficient on petrol and reliable then a turbo r33. i also have a good cai set up.

Re: that car in the pic, all the girls were looking because it appeals to them.... they would like to own/drive that car... not have sex with the person that owned that....

1. You don't need a larger throttle body, if anything will probably make your car less responsive - unless you have over 300rwkw dont worry about it

2. Most n/a cars are less efficient on petrol then turbo cars.... the turbo takes the load off the motor, I realise the turbo puts more air into the motor and you need more fuel with more air, but its better the car is on 3,500 going up a hill with the turbo going then at 5,500 with an n/a.... when I had a n/a i was getting 350km to the tank... when i first turboed the car with everything stock, I was getting 425km to a tank

the reason turbo cars are bad on fuel is because of the way their drivers use it..

3. reliability? maybe a tiny bit... you have one less moving part then the turbo guys, but i dont think that makes a huge difference

have you changed the compression since you have turbo d the car? did you fit it necessary?

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
