Hey guys,

I'm heading up to Winton this Sunday for a VicDrift practiced day, I had originally planned to drive up there in the morning and drive back in the afternoon, but I'm unsure how tired I'll be. I was considering spending the Saturday night up there if accomodation were cheap enough.

Can anyone recommend some cheap places that one person can stay? I've been googling but most places don't have prices, I plan on calling a few places tomorrow, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers.

lol I wouldn't call myself a drifter, this is my first attempt. Hopefully I learn something though, may result in a much more exciting (if admittedly slower) DECA.

All you need is skinny jeans and a bucket hat and you're a drifter haha.

not sure for 1 person. leisure park don't like drifters haha. Top of the town is where some guys stay.

Executive hideaway probably isn't worth it for 1 person.

Look up budget chain.

bullshit.

i stayed there and all my mates plus about 10 other "drifters" so i dont think they care at all.

They might be ok now but I was there last year when VicDrift warned people at the drivers briefing to stop trashing motel rooms and cabins.

I was there last weekend and they were hostile and had a go at me saying I should park out on the street if I have a car trailer. I'll never stay there again.

dunno maybe depends who you get but yeh i rkn there was about 6-10 cars on trailors there including mine they were fine we parked it outside the cabin

it is pretty tight with a trailor though i rkn the place next door is better where some freinds stayed parking is easyyyy

yeh keiran seen you there on the learners with me :whistling:

Really? Which car were you in? Where'd you go anyway, all the other learners left at around 2-3pm and I had the entire beginner section to myself. It was great I tried everything from trying different speeds and entries, did donuts, practiced controlled fishtails I learnt more in an hour of being stupid on my own than all my other runs. Only time I stopped was to give the car a chance to cool down.

I'd have kept going except for the fact my wheels started to disintergrate. I think stock Supra rims need some sort of washer as the metal around the studs began to deform.

I was there on the learner track in the first session then went out on the main track in the afternoon, saw both of you in the supra kieran and alex you were in the white r33 with no front bar yeah?

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
