^This.

They are one of most hideous things on the road lol.

PS, now my mum says she doesn't want a soarer. -Rips out hair-

Criteria:

Under $15k

Non-depreciating

Must be euro

Must promote a "serious image"

Typical asian mum wanting the world for nothing -_-"

Looked at and turned down:

E39 540i with 160kms, would have been able to get for $12k. Was inspected, came up with $2.5k worst case scenario for repairs = $14.5k for mint 540i.

E36 325i convertible - roof slightly tattered on the INSIDE...

E36 328i convertible - $15-16k. Best E36 bar my M3 that I've been in - $too much

E36 328i convertible - able to get for $12k. Was inspected, came up with $3-4k repairs. Good pass on this. Engine wasn't too great.

V8 Soarer X1 - able to get for 7k. Didn't inspect, clunked hard into drive. Good pass.

V8 Soarer X2 - Perfect. Smooth, quiet and much faster than other V8. 170kms = can't buy. =/ $9k

TT Soarer - Piece of shit rofl. 5 Min drive = steam coming from under bonnet. Wanted $12k lol.

E230 W210 - 110kms, full books. $9k, cheap! A/C broken, needs new diff.. wtf

God damnit, I give up.

hahah I like noodles, my car doesnt handle that bad!, needs a wheel alignment really bad though, just pulled the front wheels off and there is like a 35deg wear angle on the inside edge of the tread.

Oh and if you do sell your car, I call shotgun!, just make sure the grasshoppers are cleaned out kthx

If you can't notice wheel wobble when you're driving it then how bad is 'not that bad?' You don't notice wheel wobble in a Cadillac, which are great fun to drive in their own way, but modern cars don't have the same feel. They should be precise.

For ye mum; 7 Series? Audis are good value too. Audi A4 Quattro? Some A6s around there too. An early A8 if you like petrol stations. The A4 Wagons look pretty slick in black with chrome roof racks. If you really like petrol stations you could go for a 1980s Mercedes SEC. Maybe a 500SEC? 560s are a bit more money.

VVTi conversion. I read a thread on it ages ago but can't find it anywhere. Apparently you can fit the VVTi gear to a non-VVTi Supra. Anyone got any clue who hard/much it would be?

Like I said, I'm planning to keep it closer to stock so the argument that the VVTi isn't as good for making big power is of no concern as if I wanted a 1,000hp monster I'd do it properly and put a 350 chev into a Fiat 500. Bolisimo...

The most I'd be chasing is 400-450hp 'one day.' But I want to keep it quiet on the highway so even that might be difficult. If I find myself with deep enough pockets for a full build I'd probably get a second one (or an NSX).

Wat?

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
