I never once said I did that on public roads. That's just stupid and irresponsible.

Just how I read it :)

Getting the car tonight. Compression check, spot on. Rego check - PASS!

I put the stock rims on, and all was fine.

Number plate lights are out, and so is the wing light, but it was passed - just was told to fix those - as they are things I'd get booked for if drove it like that.

So now can somebody tell me how to fix/replace the lights for the wing...?

The wing lights are LED's yeah?

EDIT: Ok pending pass, i gotta fix numberplate lights and wing light.

It may just we wiring. I'll get somebody I know to take a look monday.

Simple enough fixes.

Took it to : Premier Automotive Repairs, 5 Winchcombe Lane, Mitchell - 62428450

Great guys there. They replaced one of my wheel studs that was stripped on my Pulsar also.

Just how I read it :)

NP, I don't want to be thought of as a fool or irresponsible or get myself banned for something coming across wrong.

The wing lights are LED's yeah?

yeah I think so... might just be wiring, not at all sure.. Just gotta take a look and fiddle and see if can sort em out, asap. Least those fixes won't cost me a fortune.

Oh they did note "Advise: exhaust height at 100mm". Rear exhaust as it curves under the rear axle it sits at at 100mm, long as as I don't put to fat bastards in the back it's all good. Plus the suspension is stiff enough any way.

nononononono, wherever I went Andrew, it was about as close to the DIY car wash in Lanyon as you can get...

That's the place.

Thats what i thought the 1st time, google lied to me the bastards lol, its good but, like 2mins from my house :)

Hey, can you guys help me better understand the differences between S1, S2 and S1.5 cos this is a S1.5 and has elements of both together. I read the thread on the differences between S1 and S2, but still bit lost.

I think I read somewhere that s1.5 was just s1 with factory options that s2 came standard with, like ABS and airbags....I'll let someone clarify though

ah fair enough.

More or less, no difference. Coils are old enough that their original quality is negligible as they're probably about to fail anyway. CAS probably wouldn't make much difference if any. Turbo....well, same sorta deal as the coils - but if my series 1 turbo is anything to compare to, you won't have any worries running it at 11psi all day every day, which is just shy of hitting R&R anyway.

Thing is, this one has the S1 front grill, and lights, S2 rear lights etc, but S1 Grey bar with SKYLINE on the back.

Thats all I really knew for sure.

It has NO abs nor does it have either drivers or passengers airbags.

Not sure if actually is S2 engine or not (turbo, coils etc)..

I have one pending problem that discovered this arvo when collected the car back from the mechanics... They'd not hooked something back right and now it's misfiring.. So gotta take it back and make em fix it in the morning... Damn bastards. This is why I don't like going to mechanics.

We had a really good look and can't find anything, so gonna have to get em to strip it back to the plugs like did today for the compression check, and they better have it sorted for me. I'm so pissed off.

    • Yep that's pretty much what I want to see. Racecars that look and sound like the Group A but with newer tech underneath to make them faster and safer. I'm sure there's enough VK-to-VN commodore, E30 BMWs and Foxbody mustangs shells around to make up a decent number of cars with hopefully a couple of sierras, rx7 and R31s in there too.
    • Contact Jessestreeter.com/Skevas Racing/JustJap for a new r34 rb gearbox or go a cd00# conversion. No point playing with unknown condition gearboxes.
    • Such a shame places like Amaroo Park have been redeveloped, smaller tracks always make for good racing. Cheers for sharing @PranK there's some good Lakeside video's too. Its so hard with older the cars as parts are so rare and everything was made for a particular chassis at that point in time. Even the V8 Supercar Blueprint era cars are all different between each chassis within a team as they learnt things and made improvements. The COTF cars between each Chassis builder is different too especially motor/oil systems/intakes. The Group A stuff is worth so much too especially chassis with good history. The only way to do it would be composite panels and similar engine drivelines to the original cars. Ford sierra running Focus RS driveline, Commodore running a short stroke LS/LT or a Falcon with coyote and a H Pattern dog box. Could use a standard ecu across all models with a Torque Map and DBW for parity which is not even used in Supercars currently. Hell a TCM is almost a full chassis car these days and the suspension is not even close to standard style in the front running cars.
    • Dashcams Australia (13/05/25) captured JDMHSE (Vic plate) being a right tosser.
    • Wish someone would start a racing series for Group A replica cars, a bit like Touring Car Masters but for 1985 onwards and not grandpa's falcon and/or Monaro. I know they race in some historic class but that's for original cars, no replicas allowed.
