Makes no difference man. Prams are fkn big. Shopping is huge, a trip to the airport with family is nothing like youve ever known.

I am in the same boat as you, Dames. Personally, I love my V35 coupe but will be needing more practical car in 3-4 years time for expanding family, plus abit of turbo power for driving pleasure. :P

Forester XT perhaps? Not bad on fuel!

unless prams have grown substantially in the last dozen years, they will fit nicely in the back of a WRX hatch. I had an MY02 sedan when my kids were 4yrs and 18 months, before that I had a Magna and R32 GTSt (which my wife took interstate with the kids).

Make sure there's enough room in the car to have the baby seat facing backwards for the first few months (the R32 needed the passengers seat folded forwards to fit) but the kids grow out of that very quickly.

There's enough room to fit even the widest pram in the back of a WRX hatch with the back seats up. I don't know what sort of prams are being talked about here, but we used a convertible pram / stroller that folded away to almost nothing.

You DO NOT need a station wagon if you have little kids. If I didn't have to tow a rally car, we would have 2 small cars, the WRX and probably a diesel golf or even sh!tbox hyundai I30

New Forester's look tuff, i saw a black one cruise past at the lights and at first glance thought it was some new Lexus or other higher classed car!

Im a stay at home Dad with a 6 and 3yo, I still need the wagon now.

Thanks mate. I do like 2001+ Stagea but I am trying not to get anymore imports as Mrs wants good resale car.

Really depends if you want the missus dragging a 12kg pram over your rear bar paintwork I guess.

Ease of access is what its all about.

12kg? Fark me what are they making them out of these days? Our pram would have been flat out weighing 5kg fully dressed. As I said, once folded up it was a breeze to lift in and out of the car. Bloody easy to use, too.

Besides, the hatch has the same access as a station wagon, so I can't see that being a problem.

The crap you're likely to drag around int he back of a station wagon is more likely to damage your paintwork / interior than the stuff you normally put in a hatch or sedan. When you have the space, you end up using it eventually.

If you want ease of access, the simplest way to put a baby into a baby seat is a decent sized 2 door car where you can step into the back, and sit down next to the baby seat. Much easier than leaning into a car to fiddle with belts etc.

Been there done that. Just glad my kids can do most things for themselves now.

I bought my wife a mint r33 4 door auto, airbag version (rare for a 93), auto front spoiler. Beautiful car, the complier said it was the cleanest he'd ever seen. I had to sell it as the pram (fark knows when you had kids warps) was too difficult to load/unload, car was getting scratched etc. So I gave her my RS4. She loved it, flat loading area, pram, baby bag and the fortnights shopping in without a problem. She was most happy, so was I, I got an Autech.

So Victor, its up to you. We didnt find sedans, and definately not a hact suitable to our needs. The wagon was the answer for us.

the boot on any sedan smaller than a falcon/commodore is small.

as for hatches, depends on the car as to how big the boot is. the missus SSS has a small boot compared to my mothers corolla. but both were smaller than a commodore or falcon boot. have to go to a wagon to get a bigger boot than them.

Is it just me or the sedan cargo really is bigger compare to hatch with rear seats up? Weird. :thumbsup:

Wow - that might be the ugliest car Subaru have made to date...

It's all been downhill for them after the GC8 model.

Did you hear the great news - they now make the STI in Auto!!! <<<< Give me a break...

If i were to get a Subaru I'd drive it off a cliff. No offence to anyone - just my opinion.

      I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way

      This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.

      Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.

      To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
