Hi allI had my car taken to a mechanic last year for timing belt etc. 2 days later the 'solenoid' went. This mechanic had a spare box 'layin around' and installed this for a price. Was quoted $1100 to fix old one and was strapped for cash so took other boxMonths later car was making a weird noise, took it back and he said use some belt grip, next day, bang, worried i took it to another mechanic and the crank tip snapped from the bolt not being tightned. Old mechanic gone, got new engine, turbo etc, and just finished build today. A trans guy replaced the line pressure solenoid and tested the others which were fine. Shift kit installed. Got car back and it's in limp mode. Test says solenoid b. This was tested and is fine?? Could the original mechanic have done something?Any ideas guys? Sorry im on my phone and can't break into paragraphs. John

Try resetting the ECU before jumping to conclusions.

When removing ECU's, even with the battery disconnected, if I didn't bleed the residual current from the system (by hitting the brake pedal) the TCM would throw up wierd errors.
