Hello all,

I just need to know a few things about my RB26 as i havent had a real lot of experiance on these motors

I just need to know what i can do to keep my engine in one piece :D .

as far as i know it has been tuned with a Nismo ECU, it has standard fuel pump, standard injectors and standard fuel rail.

The car has been Dyno'd and has put out 297rwkw. I have forgoten to mention that it has the N1 turbos on it and is running 18psi.

What i need to know is, is this boost to much?, will the car see around 330rwkw with a injector and fuel pump upgrade?

And at what stage do you need to start worrying about touching the internals?

Also the engine is out of a R33 GTR and has done around 62,000kms.

I wouldnt mind a bit advice on oils and what not just because this is my first GTR and i really want it to last but also want a fair bit of power :P

Thanks in advance for all your advice.

Cheers

Injectors and fuel pump by themselves won't gain you any power, but they will give you the fuel you need to run more boost and make more power that way. Not sure about the N1 turbos, I thought they could handle 28psi but I really haven't looked into it, only heard someone mention it. Some of the other guys on here will be able to tell you more :)

If it were mine i'd have a tuner run it on the dyno to check that knock levels and injector duty on the current setup is safe. If the motor is truly at that kms and has been well looked (neither of which you *know*) then 330 should be ok if you keep it off the limiter. Other things you might need over the injectors and pump is AFMs and clutch. Thinking about leaving it at 300 if you're concerned about the engine - the lower the power the longer it will live, you choose how much risk you want to accept.

Read the oil sticky..... but IMO you want a fully synthetic 5W-40 or maybe even a 5W-50. Im using Mobil 1 5W-50 because its cheap and easy to get, would prefer a 5W-40 tho. Change at 5000kms. Overfill by 1lt if you're going to the track.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
