so I've been looking through the auctions section on www.japaneseusedcars.com and I found something that is quiet interesting. Up for auction next wednesday is this r34 http://japaneseusedcars.com/auction/wednes...No-WUF5039.html that looks as if it is a nismo omori factory S1. Not sure if it is genuine or not due to no proof/engine pics, but it does have S1 decals on the back and side of the car, aswell as only 9,000kms on what would most definately be a new engine. Genuine or not, it looks like a damn good piece of kit for what is so far only 42,304.80AUD. Would this car even be able to be complied here in Aus?

Hi.

You would have to confirm what you think it is as its only noted as a v spec 2. The reason for the r rating is repair to r/h front guard- r/h door and looks like r/h skirt or maybe sill. The kms are not genuine. With this r rating you really need somebody you can trust to inspect and advise.

not too sure what you mean by that, are the genuine ones only bayside blue? don't they offer a S1 tuning package either way?

no, they can be any colour, from red to MP3

S1 engine packages are offered by Omori, they are basically a stage 1 package, but built by Nismo

here is a picture of an S1 engine i took in 2006 at Omori

The car youve posted a link too does indeed have an S1 engine fitted from the description,

Jeez, some of you guys need to brush up on your auction report reading....

As Noy said, this car has been floating around at auction since May, mainly because it has been STARTING at 3.8 million yen, so goodness knows what the owner wants for it.

It's not a colour change, if it was it'd be marked on the sheet.

It's had a hit on the front right, taking out the quarter panel and driver's door, although given the owner still managed to get a replacement S1 emblem, the accident must've been a fair while ago (Nismo don't sell those emblems any more).

It IS a legit S1, build number S-005, it actually says so on the sheet. In saying this, Nismo only converted existing GT-Rs to S1 or R1 specs, they weren't a specific model like the Z-Tune was, which is why it's marked as a V-Spec II.

The car has had two gauge cluster changes, one in 2004 at 18,000km (most likely when the S1 conversion was done) and then in 2005 at 6000 (indicated), making a total somewhere around 33,000km on the car itself.

i miss read the 6, as a 60k, due to replying on my iphone

but your right, its a genuine S1, with the cluster change and now has a 320 nismo cluster in it.

colour changes are not always marked on the sheet tho, depends on how honest the auction house is ;-)

there must be something wrong with it, if its been there since may,

maybe if you inspect it close up, you would find out

most R34 GT-Rs (excellent ones) are approx 3.5minimum up wards so its in the right ball park but odd if its been there since may, something doesnt tally up

the "badge" looks like a sticker, which Nismo still sell tho

The emblem is a sticker, yes - if you can source one from Nismo, then I'm all ears, I'm after an R1 emblem for my car. Last I checked they didn't have any left.

did you call Omori direct or did you just go through an agent?

calling direct is the best policy

you can still get them

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
