This thread is hilarious.

I seriously think some people are far too precious with their cars. I mean seriously.. thinking highway driving would cause excessive wear on an engine? This forum Delivers :)

+1. Forum has a lot of idiots as of late.

OP will be fine, car will be happy to do that rather than limiter bashing.

the only reason you'd see falcons on the side of the road comes down to the lack of maintenance by a lot of owners, not the actual cars. if skylines were treated like a lot of commodores and falcons are there'd be a hell of a lot more of them on the side of the road broken down than commodores and falcons.

ford owners must neglect their cars more than holden owners, either that or holdens are more tolerant to abuse. i see a disproportionate amount of fords broken down.

they are just a standard family car with a turbo attatched.

That's a bit dishonest Marc. A Vecra VXR is a family car with a turbo engine, but I wouldn't characterise a GTST as that. I'd call it a de-tuned touring car which may or may not be available in saloon format. It's only a family car in the sense that in is not say mid-engined etc. Nissan never marketed it as a family car really, the NA saloon versions were kind of inferior after-thoughts. Even the RWD format goes against the grain of jelly mold family saloons, there is NO reason to go RWD if you are just making family cars.

no, a GTR is a de-tuned touring car. a gts-t is a family car version of said de-tuned touring car. they are no more a detuned touring car than an xr6t. the non GTR are just a sports family saloon. they are less of a the S series and Z series cars are more sports cars than a non GTR skyline.

a vectra VXR isn't a family car either, it is a sports hatch, in fact the VXR is the sports hatch version of a normal hatch. they are simply GM's answer to the focus. anyone who buys a vectra as a family car is stupid.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
