thanks. i'm really no good at these sort of things, my friend bought me some nice JL 6x9's for the rears. i had some boxed 6x9's which came with the car, those carozerria or whatever ones and thought that the new ones would pop in the hole. should've known that the hole size is still for 6". now im wondering if i should get him to exchange the 6x9's for 6". or modify it somehow.

yes same in vic u cannot cut the parcel shelf at all as it is supposedly a main structure in the car which supports the rear windscreen. If u wanna run the risk then do it but i'd just get pods made up from fibreglass, they don't look all that good but i wouldn't run the risk.

P.S. i was also told that you are allowed to cut the parcel shelf but the hole size i do not know and it must be further than 11 cm from the child restraint. (Dunno if thats tru, but thats of no help any way to your cause)

cheers,

Rom.

I had the same problems, but i have 7x10's and every audio shop i took it too refused to even try to install them (all afraid of a little hard work). But i eventually moved the hicas computer and slid them right in, there was about 3mm to spare between the speaker magnet and the battery fastner, but i am here to tell you it can be done

the hicas computer is easy to move.... it just unscrews then you can screw it down again on the base of the shelf.... i have no idea why the people at nissan designed the boot the way they did.... every other part of the car is made with the idea that people will add to it, but the boot just seems inefficient to me, especially the tiny speaker holes and the positioning of vital equipment (hicas and battery) directly benieth the speaker holes, when there are many other places that they could go.

Hi

I added 6 x 9 speakers to my R33 by making up an MDF spacer that went under the standard parcel tray, then traced that onto the underside of the tray, enlarged the ho;es for the stock speakers, and found that with a little careful positioning the standard grilles covered the new speakers.

Voila - stealthy 6 x 9's

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
