Hey everyone,

as the title suggests, I just ordered some of 666DAN LED's for the dash and A/C unit, and im gonna go get some 3mm LED for the power window buttons

I know its meant to be a simple enough job but im quite nervous about removing the whole dash/centre console etc

Anyway, my dad and I are gonna give it a go this weekend ....

Would anybody who's done this before be able to give us a hand?

We can come to you we can pay you for your troubles :)

Thanks guys

btw its a r34 series 1 :)

i can help you if you want. Give me a call on friday if you still need help.

It's really easy dude, probably the hardest part is getting the bulbs polarity right lol. Frustrating having to take the dash in and out when you get the bulbs the wrong way round.

Just take your time and be gentle with everything and you will be fine.

ive done it before, its really easy actually. its a pain in the butt if you dont set it right though you gotta take you dash out again..

or in my case if you didnt twist it around enough to make it touch the positive and negitive.. lol just make sure you do,

Good luck :)

patty that link made it seem even more difficult :| looks pretty complex hahaha

Yeah Terence I'd love the help :) I'll get in touch with you on friday

Btw hey Martin I'm loving the exhaust :)

woh from that link do u's rip out the entire dash? thats crazy, i only took out the ash tray screw, centre console part, wala air con ready to go, globes r bit fiddly at start but got it eventually. triple gauge took me about 3 mins from scratch lol was suprised at how easy that one was. speedo took a bit messin about but pretty straight forward, done about 4 times now. twice on mine n a couple mates. ill try find an easier link i used...

*edit - duno if dash comin out has anything to do with power window buttons but wouldnt think so lol. Never done those.

hey everyone, the first time i did it the left and middle globes on the a/c unit didnt light up, but I couldnt remember if they did or not, so i just left it

After looking at old pics, i realised they were meant to, and fiddled around a bit with em, and finally got the left one working also by switching the two lights around that werent working.

I couldnt get the middle one working, even when i tried to switch the bulbs to the one on the right (the one that has always worked)

Not too sure whats gone wrong with this, I used the stock bulb and that worked okay

Oh and in the process of getting the middle light working the fuse blew and had to wait until today for it to get fixed -.-

its now fixed, but the centre light still isnt turning on!

It looks pretty silly atm ...

Anybody got any ideas whats wrong/how to fix it?

BTW so far i have tried switching the bulbs to a different one, twisting it around a bit to make sure the contact was there, taking it out and putting it in a couple of times ...

nothing really seems to be working :(

When I did mine it didn't work the first time but I played around with it and noticed if you put it in the opposite way you put it in it should work if that makes sense and also spread the metal contacts on the globes a bit for better contact hope that makes sense

Cheers Patrick

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
