damn you eps got my hope up with that s2k and its a manual....

she does want the s15 but 20k for a stock auto s15 is abit much even in its tho its in good condition =\ been looking for a 350z but its not in her price range just yet.

Looks like she likes sleek looking cars. I'll take the FD over S15 though. Just purely because of the unique-ness. Have a read on the 32817308173 pages long thread on rotary and you'll find that the rumour of them being unrealiable isnt true (however the fuel part of it is). Just like any other car, so long as you do the right thing, it should give you much problem. Having said that, S2000 is a good choice too. I think a stock S15 is just too boring. It needs more than lowering and rims to make it look good (e.g. body kit, dori style!).

im curious - how do you have a JDM 350z???

and yes - that's the issue with "most" higher end sports cars - people who can afford them new are too rich to change their own gears.

the only way you could have got a jdm 350z is in 2002 when a handful were bought into the country. So either its a track car that isnt registered...adding JDM in front of any car makes it cool? :)

anyway, I prefer the FD for looks and driving around...but as everyone has pointed out the oil and fuel consumption don't make it very daily friendly especially for someone who is not a car nut.

If she just wants 'sporty looks' then I think the V35 coupe in auto would be great value given how cheap they are. Resale value is an issue though with any sports car with an auto so she can pick it up cheap but she'll have to let it go cheap.

For the $20k mark she's looking at you can get something like this black V35 although I'd never buy an auto or black car for myself :)

others could be even an MX-5 if she doesn't want something particularly fast and more for show.

Your wife's Burmese? Cool. Do you go to any Burmese community things? :)

Anyhow, I would give a V35 a thought too, if she likes the look plus they are very affordable now. It also has the decent back seats and a boot (That was the reason I chose V35 over 350Z and Silvia). :)

Not really. There's a lot of people with Nwe in the name though. My aunty is a lecturer at Curtin University and she would know more Burmese people than me.

If u want, pm me when you go to one of the Burmese concert or community thing in the future and maybe we can catch up one day. :)

as others have said. S15 for daily would be a better idea. R34 would be good alternative too.

For something that looks good, and is cheaper, Celicas, Integras etc, I reckon would be nice too. But just gotta live with the fact that they aren't as fast but still look very nice.

get her in a V35 coupe and see how she likes the drive. I might be the odd one..but of all the silvia's ...the S15 is the one I like the least. Personal favourite in that line is the S14 S2 ...looks bloody tough when dumped + flush 18" wheels.

if she's into the rotaries...then the rx8 is the slightly more reliable option...but doesn't have 1/2 the grunt of the rx7

S2000's have also aged well...but do hold an image of being a ghey car...much like the subaru outback is a dikes car.

looks, style and all round awesomness, the rx7,

BUT as a daily it would fail hard. if you want to go fast u better be close to a BP station, also im assuming that its an auto? hitting 8-9k rpm on any auto box i'd not reccomend and good luck finding a replacement

s15 = chicks car, get that.

I would go S15 for her requirements. I have owned an RX7 and IMO you need to be somewhat of an enthusiast regarding the rotary engine. Lots of people get drawn in on the looks and uniqueness, however you dont want these factors alone to be driving your choice (unless you have plenty of $$!). Otherwise the RX7 is a great car.

An S15 has an easy/well known engine configuration and is easy to service.

Has she considered a WRX? :huh:

      This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.

      Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree.       My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.

      Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno

      Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
