not sure on that one snoz, the zirconia needs heating to work properly (the two white wires are for heating)but not sure on the titania.

checked my fuel usage and ive hit 190km on half a tank. looks like the dirty afm's could have been a big contributor to the poor fuel economy. should get the new o2 sensors next week, i'll fit them next and see how that goes

Tunes not going to make a huge difference as I doubt nothing mechanically has changed requiring different fuel and ignition loads. Could removing from fuel from the tune by they generally run lean then shift AFM drops when acceleration occurs, so could get some better fuel economy, but I bet it's something like AFM, o2 ect. I've got a set here that are used, but worked fine previously Eric.

They work like a thermocouple (from my understanding), which means they would read different because of the two different types of materials.

Thanks clint, as i said, got a new set of o2 sensors coming next week, and i will keep a eye on the afm's. if there is any problems with them. 'll come and see you.

are you back from holidays yet? still got to get that price for a set of front rotors off you.

ok makes sense.. but is the difference in material a longetivity thing or do they operate differently due to the difference in material?

operate differently and are not compatible with each other afaik

just fitted the new o2 sensors. had to buy a special socket to get the sensor out (rare as rocking horse poop too). will see if this makes a difference.

If anybody needs to change there o2 sensors and is SOR im quite happy to help as the socket makes it very easy.

if u bought o2 that are RB25 compatible, couldnt u just get the ford EF o2 sensor from repco, as it mentions in the general maintainence section that that is compatable with the RB25, i did that and im sure it was under $100 for it, plus some connectors, and no special tool required,

a bit late now, but might help someone else that is looking thru this thread

I got the o2 sensors for $77each, Gtr sensors are alot harder to get at than the gtst so it was easier to get the correct tool for the job

  • 3 weeks later...

got the fuel economy down to 13.8l/100 without the tune highway/city driving. o2 sensors are working perfectly (pfc sensor check screen). was hoping for a tune by now but other things have come up so it keeps getting put off. knocked up a catch can at work and that is now fitted so hopefully no more oil on the afm's.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
