Hi everyone, it was great to meet VQ-series owners on cruise no.6.

Thank you to all who attended and those who couldn't attend, we look forward to seeing you in future events.

Photos should be uploaded during this week.

Thank you.

Awesome! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I will definitely be there for the next event.

Hi Mikhail, yes. We had a great time.

We would have like more V-series, but it's all about catching up with fellow owners once-in-a-while. So it's all good.

At this moment, the date for the meet-and-greet is not set yet. Maybe at the end of May if the weather is fine.

Looking forward to seeing you and your V35, Mikhail. Keep us updated.

hey victor, was certainly good catching up and meeting some new V owners. Sorry I couldn't make it for the whole cruise (and for turning up at Powis St car park at 1.45pm..dohhh!! honestly thought it was a 1.30 meet up and a 2pm departure)

seeing all the cars dressed up makes me want a kit even more now.

i may be getting a front bumper next month. if anyone else is interested, just send me a pm.

I can organise this for WA owners only coz really don't have time to arrange for interstate shipping.

Hi Roy, no problem at all. Thank you for at least coming to one stop and catching up with us. It had been a long time (1 year) that I last saw you. :P

Your new wheels looks good! What front bumper are you getting?

well was contemplating the K2 Remix, until Steve convinced me that it looked ghey, and the Kuruma z hangs too low and I scrape badly in most places as it is. So might end up getting a nismo front & possibly impul sides. Other option is just a front lip to keep it nice and clean.

btw, where did u get ur kit fitted n painted? i want to know how much it cost for painting & fitting a whole bumper vs just a front lip.

Cheers Victor.

ps: looking forward to a meet n greet in May.

Kuruma Z looks nice. There is one silver V35 coupe in Perth with it. I am also sure it is lower than K2.

Just a lip kit will look cleaner and stockish, just depends on your liking.

I believe I got mine fitted for $350 by Robb at Hybrid Customs in Welshpool. He's very good, fitted mine all nice and straight and Kinh's whole kit perfect.

Name: Robb

Mobile: 0410 861 877

Company: Hybrid Customs

Address: Unit 138, Radium Street, Welshpool WA

I got it painted by a guy called Hammid for $800 painting the whole kit. I can't remember his details at the moment but can find out from my other friends. He's not the best. My paint matched like 80%, plus I was in a hurry to finish for the Autosalon so I rushed him abit. :P He did a good job on my friends's cars before. Anyhow, Robb has his own personal contact for painting the kit. I just didn't go to his contact because I already booked in with Hammid. Let me know if you want his number.

Roy, have you thought about this kit (http://www.vertex-aus.com/products_digna_v35.html)?

One of my favourite.

nice. haven't seen that kit before. front looks a bit like INGS but i dont want a kit that stoops too low. i drive around a lot of places where there's a steep incline and always scrape the bumper.

For me, this one is still nicer than INGS. Reason I didn't get it instead of Veilside was I didn't have time to wait for it back then.

Roy, V35 coupes are quite low even from factory. So whatever kit you put on will make it lower.

The look you got now is still ok. Your's black, so you can get away without the kit.

    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
