so i had my car up on a hoist today and discovered a serious coolant leak. one of the hoses above the starter motor (i was obviously looking from underneath) it would be under the intake manifold at the back of the engine bay and it appears to just be a hose so...

i plan on replacing all hoses and anything else i could encounter trouble with under the intake manifold at the same time, i may aswell replace all hoses in the engine bay at the same time. is there any hose kits i can buy or anything like that? also, need to replace the steel hose that runs across the front of the engine under the CAS. anyone want to part with one?

^^ yep.

use original hoses unless theyre of a good quality 4 PLY silicon type. the usual silicon hoses ALWAYS end up leaking/cutting/bursting prematurely. i think the just jap kits are 4-ply and sell for something like $130 delivered. if i didnt have an aftermarket plenum i would've gone for that kit. i ended up going to supercheap with all of my hoses and getting all different types to match the shapes i had and they're still going strong.

If doing all the coolant lines. Id be using genuine nissan ones. Them silicon ones are cheese. Always ballon and will give you even more problems down the track.

you got any idea if i can buy a full genuine hose kit for it? i'll have to give a nissan dealer a call see if they can still get genuine and how much. probably pay the earth...

Still availible from nissan. No kits unfortunatly. So you will have to buy/order each hose indivdually. Just go to your local nissan dealers parts department and go through it with them :)

    • Unless you're fortunate enough to buy a newer car, getting an older style plate to match your name/car is difficult because they've already been purchased.  Unlike other countries, personalised plates are locked to the country and not region, so there can't be multiple versions of the same plate but with a different area code.  Hope that helps

    • That's why I said it is a meaningless term. Because there is more than one meaning that people can apply to it. When we said "highflow", that is exactly what we mean, and exactly what is done. In a highflow, they take your housing and machine them out to take bigger wheels, have a better internal profile, etc etc, and fit a new core with the different/better/bigger wheels.
