sorry dude, no can do for me. we'll have to hook up anothertime anotherplace. it won't happen overnight, but it will happen. take a few snaps of the hks for me ay.

Well I am still going rail, hail or shine.

Problem is the wife needs the Camry in the morning.

So I can either just meet the SDU team there, Willowbank.

But I would really prefer to grab a lift with some one, e.g. to Mt Cootha meeting place and travel in style.

Any offers would be greatly appreciated.

Willing to pay own my way petrol expenses

Also have a digital camera and love to take some pics.

Come on guys make it a day for my to cherish, the way things have been going its going to be months before I get me R33.

Also can supply some music CD's and any games that I might have to the driver.

Me 31 old fart with wife and 2 sproggs.......luckily they have no interest in going.

by the sounds of it, the broadwater carpark will probably see one of it's biggest nights ever this weekend. it will be awesome cause a lot of the cars there will be skylines and other imports.

is there a meeting place at willowbank? or how is everyone meeting up with everybody else at willobank?

cam, would it be too presumptuous of me to ask you to meet up with the sydney boys that are staying down the coast so that they have someone cruising up that knows the way.

i think it would make it easier for all concerned and would minimise the number of guys getting lost

and a word of warning, it would be better to get onto milton rd rather than using coronation drive as the roadworks there are absolutely berserk.

for those of you that don't know about this example of bureaucratic stuff ups: dept of main roads were supposed to widen and resurface this road to make life a little easier for everyone who uses it. the job was supposed to take six weeks over christmas. dept of main roads subsequently finished this operation in good time and then remembered that brisbane city council wanted to put a main sewer line down the same road. result: coronation drive had to be dug up again and consequently our six week project is into its 5th month

bloody idiots

Yeh that sounds cool, how long do you reckon it should take from Surfers to Mt Cootha, I assume the best route is :

M1 - SE Freeway

SE Freeway onto Milton RD

Milton RD up to Mt Cootha

?

Where you recon a good spot is to meet up with everyone on the coast?

I know a few guys are meeting at Coomera BP at 6:30 any more ideas?

cam, the route you have suggested is definately the easiest option for everyone and i think that if everyone meets at comera bp it will make for a relativley easy cruise to brisvegas from there, so long as you leave on time i.e 6:30 to get everyone to mt cootha by 7:30. and yes i realise that it doesnt take an hour to travel that route but we do need to make allowances for people who dont know our roads and dickhead qld drivers as well as making allowances for any unforeseen mishap such as that which happened to mesmer last time.

BY BY, when you are leaving your hotel in the morning just ask for directions to the broad water car park

all you do is drive north back out of the coast highway (unsure of actual name) and once you cross "the bridge" turn right at next set of lights. this will take you into the world famous Broad Water carpark, if you are not staring at sea world across the broadwater, you have f**ked up and ended up somewhere else

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
