Hey all,

Just after some loctite but there are a fair few variants. Basically need something suitable for flywheel, suspension parts and here n there. Are any of them good enough? I want it to be removable without heating. I heard the blue ones break under certain torque which is probably best but still there are many numbers.

Any advice would be great guys. Also where do I buy the cold stuff in a can from, to shrink bolts.

I just used some high strength thread locker on my brothers flywheel but there is nothing left in the tube and I also have no idea how strong high strength is lol so incase I need to pull it off, I don't want to sit there heating shit up.

Cheers guys.

Just go to bursons and have a look at what they have got. Get the high strength one for the flywheel bolts, i personally wouldnt bother with the weaker locktite products ie there is a green colored one and i think a few others. You shoudn't need locktite on suspension stuff anyways, just tighten them to 'FT'.

The cold stuff is called rust of ice, we use that at work. You can also use the subaru decoke stuff, that works awesome on rusted and uber tight bolts.

I have always used 243, its a medium strength blue one. Cracks easy without heat and holds well, also acts as a lubricant for alloy to stop thread galling.

For the flywheel you may want a harder one though.

266 in the link looks promising.

Have a read and gauge for yourself. IMO i would be talking to a mechanic that regularly changes clutches / flywheels as their business depends upon it not stuffing up.
