Okay this is pretty much a cut and paste from the news articles but it is pretty important to us. Personally, I think speed cameras that do not reduce the road toll and do nothing but make money need to go. If you must keep them keep them in blackspot areas with significant signage to actually save peoples lives. The bullshit revenue raising that goes on especially in Sydney with the mass introduction of so called "safety cameras" has to come to an end.

The website for input is here: http://www.audit.nsw.gov.au/

and here is the specific speed camera feedback link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BHMVMP8

The NSW Auditor-General has called for motorists' input into his state-wide investigation of speed cameras.

NSW motorists have been asked to nominate speed cameras they believe are being used as cash cows as part of a state-wide audit.

Auditor-General Peter Achterstraat on Tuesday called on motorists to log onto the NSW Audit Office website and have their say about the state's speed cameras, long thought to be used for revenue raising.

Earlier this month, Premier Barry O'Farrell made good on an election promise to carry out the audit, saying he would rip out any camera found to have no impact on road safety or those being used to gouge motorists.

Mr Achterstraat said he wanted feedback on each of the 172 fixed cameras, adding a large number of people thought the cameras were simply "money-making machines".

"I'll be looking at the facts and figures behind the 172 fixed speed cameras but in addition to that I want to dig a lot deeper in relation to the most controversial cameras," he told reporters.

"That's why I'm asking the public to nominate which ones of the speed cameras they think I should look at more closely.

"A large number of people are very concerned about speed cameras, and they are concerned that they are just money-making machines, but there are also a large number of people who highly value particular speed cameras and see them as very effective in having reduced traffic accidents."

The audit will also investigate the six mobile and 60 safety or red light cameras used across NSW, with a report due in July.

NSW Roads Minister Duncan Gay said the audit would help reassure motorists that cameras are being used to improve road safety, and not raise money for government.

"Motorists have genuine concerns that speed cameras have become cash cows under (the former Labor government)," Mr Gay said in a statement.

I only know Sydney metro and south coast really, so I picked

Beauty Point - Spit road

Burwood

Burwood heights

Darlinghurst

Lane Cove Tunnel

M2 Tunnel

Moore Park - Cleveland Street (MASSIVE REVENUE RAISER)

Randwick - Avoca Street

Ryde - Blaxland

Sydney - Sydney Harbour Tunnel

The Spit - Spit road

Woolloomooloo/East Sydney

Berry - Princes Highway

Nowra - Princes Highway

Wollongong - Princes Highway

The new east link in melbourne every toll point has a camera and its point to point not at that spot.

They are toll cameras! Not speed cameras (Point to point)... But they do have fixed cameras under some bridges and in the tunnel... These cameras under the bridges, specially wellington road one, have been on tv a couple times for reading hot, and about a couple weeks ago when i passed there was a blank spot in one of the lanes, one of the cameras was missing, maybe it was the so claimed dodgy one... pinch.gif

Moore Park - cleveland St. Girlfriend got done there for 60kph in a 50kph zone on a Saturday. Why is that a 50kph zone out of school hours?

I did the exactly same - camera got me at 60. Its retarded having main roads like Cleveland Street only 50kph.

most speed cameras, f**k them off - signed; the general motoring public

maybe just around blackspots or variable cameras at school zones, lower speed limit only activated when the school zone lights are flashing

There are safety cameras set up along the great western highway in st marys western sydney (where the old couple got cleaned up by the racing commodores a few years back) which is 3 lanes on either side

there is only one camera post with 2 cameras on it.

I was speaking with one of my clients who worked in the rta planning department (or something like that) who said the cameras can monitor all the lanes specifically ie; someone speeding in one lane can't be mistaken with a car travelling the speed limit next to it,

but I always see people speeding along the rightmost lane when they are being covered by a car in the middle lane.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
