Just back from our first Stagea cruise...it was awesome !

Massive thanks to those who organised it as an "all terrain drive" cruise LOL ...well most of us had 4WD capability so that was OK (just joking)

Seriously, we were humbled to meet such a delightful group of peeps who are so passionate about their cars. Your warm welcome into the group was

greatly appreciated & (for us)it was heaps nice to see couples & kids on a cruise.

We very much look forward to the next one ! (maybe we can be tempted into organising a winter cruise...end up in a pub with an open fire for lunch)

Good cruise guys good to see good numbers out there representing. good to catch up with some of you again and meet some new peps as well. will be good to see some footage and pics. oh well im off to find a new radiator now and chuck it in  any one know if there the same as 33 skyline rad ?

cheers

jason, Rose and little Mia

Great day out, thanks for organising it Glenn, and thanks to Brad and Dunc for the rides.

What did we learn?

  1. Stagea's are awesome on dirt
  2. Dunc's car goes much better than mine
  3. Billy drives like an old mole

Roads were my kind of thing, a nice mix but some good twisty stuff. Shame car wasn't going but will be tomorrow.

If you're planning a cruise ending at a pub for lunch Mark, count me in. Sounds awesome, maybe up through the hills to Lobethal, Birdwood or the like?

And Glenn, I have to ask, was the dirt intentional? Or did you take a wrong turn?

great day out today guys. thanks for organising it glenn. As all have said, it was a great turnout. good to see some fresh faces and seeing some stagea cruise repeat offenders too!

great idea for a lunch/pub stop cruise mark, i'll be keen for that one.

gotta trry and get a southern cruise organised for next month now, the pressure is on, no u turns and no dirt roads tho?? u guys are way to fussy :nyaanyaa:

Hope you get your radiator sorted 4bidn1 from what I saw the radiator looked the same as my R33 on the top but mine didnt have the auto cooling at the bottom.

Im spewing I had to leave early I would of liked to get on the dirt road.

Also a pub lunch sounds like a good idea for next run looks like you've called it Mark & Jules

Great photos so far everyone. Did anyone take a count at the begining. M35s to C34s

Not sure about M35 vs C34 but there were exactly 20 stageas at the beginning @ Bunnings (we can do the headcount via the photo's)

...just done a quick pic headcount & I make it 6 M35's...maybe someone else can see more.

sounds like big kev has put his hand up to organise the next one!!!!:nyaanyaa:

but seriously tho, if you wanna get something going olds mark that would be killer, just make sure the pub has plenty of parking, we should be aiming for 30 stageas next time.

there were a few absentees this time

Great cruise, was really good to see a bunch of new faces place some of the regulars

I need to be less slack, and take more photos, but heres a couple that I managed to get around to taking!

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
    • Not yet quite as bad as what we've seen a Jim Berry clutch do in an R32 GTR though when it decided to cut a chassis rail in half... Still very very gnarly and a great reason to avoid.
