Guys,

April is fast approaching, so I just wanted let you guys know whats happening.

From the 10th to the 17th of April, I'll be bringing 4 Japanese girls (not 6 as originally planned :)) to Perth for a homestay. They are students of mine, and the primary goal is to get them to practice English, and to show them some good 'ol WA hospitality (and to go shopping...).

Now, I already have an itinerary for each day planned, but on Monday the 12th we'll be going to Fremantle to look around and whatnot, can anyone tell me if there are any events or things happening then? Do any of you SAU guys want to meet up and say hi?

Also, on Friday the 16th, we'll be going around the CBD just shopping and relaxing, but later on I want to take the girls to a club. Can anyone suggest a good place to go, and does anyone want to hook up then too?

**These girls aren't looking for a "partner" in any shape or form, they just want to have a good time and practice English.

Thanks in advance!

/Rezz

Hi Rezz, thats great!!! to answer some of your questions...

http://www.askted.com.au ----> this is Perth based web site tells you What's happening around the Perth, you might find some functions you guys can visit.

or Please visit to Japanese cultural centre @ Level 25 QV1 building, 250 st george's tce Perth its CBD. I work on same floor... :) I would come out and say HI!!! :P building looks like this 26654722.qv1southside.jpg they will give you best information about Perth in Japanese and english....

Club? have to take them to burswood international resort (aka casino) RUBY ROOM and North Bridge the club district... Perhaps WA museume and Art gallery.

if you have car then definately Penguine Island approx an hour south of Perth or even magater river... polly have to 2day trip. (beautiful winery there) I dotn think many asian ppl will see view like that...

also maybe if they have enough energy the ZOO!!! cant go wrong there... at the moment it would be better go early in the morning when they just opened cuz animals most active dawn and dusk.

its big place so you needs careful planning.!!! I am sure eveyone will have fun!!! if you have any questions Just PM away :D

I know many places cuz I show my parents and their friends who comes down here as holiday :D I should set up my own business hahahah :( :slap:

yeah Rez can we place some orders for small parts wif ya? Boost gauges for example? On a friday night ya prob better off going to the floreat at the moment... it has been redone since you were prob here last along with the rest of the shopping centre... wait till ya see it.... on a friday night it is UNBELEIVABLE.. very busy so get in there early..... Northbridge aint what it used to be on a friday due to stabbings acnd crap so people are going to the next suburbs out.. subi mt lawley, floreat.... those kinda places!

Yeah it is getting safer but well certain gangs like stabbings at certain clubs, one that i used to run the promo team all of us left.... everyone left coz it was getting too much... every weekend people were sick of that plus all of the fights and 'certain people' asking for money and trying to start fights....

Its been getting better lately, but too much too late.... although the police and media dont give too much attention to it (only mind you coz they were always to ridiculously slow and late eating donuts or trying to put a yellow sticker on skyline) so most poeple who read the paper and watch the news don't know how bad it was gettin, but i am sure most of the frequent club goers know that about a year ago things were just way out of control! I was told by police a couple of new years ago to tell my security staff to be alert as there was a guy walking around with an "indian style tomahawk threatening people, he has no shirt on'.... anyway oh i won't get started but that pretty much sums up how it was the past 6 months things have gotten better in northbridge but it's too late people have now goneout of the inner zone and gone one zone out.... hence the surrounding suburbs.. police and the council have no one to blame but themselves, oh and the criminals ahaha. Their ridiculous tactics of dealing with the problem which was basically non existent was astounding......

In summary things are getting better now but too much too late everyone has gone further out of northbridge.... so is it better because of better policing tactics or is it better because there is no one there anymore to start the problems?

I think the latter......

yeah Rez can we place some orders for small parts wif ya?
25GTT, uneekwahn: I was really going to avoid bringing parts back, but if you throw something in the mix for me, I'll see what I can do... I'm thinking a maximum of 10 items only... but we'll see ok?

Rezz,

Im jealous, i really am.

Anyway, getting over the jealousy for a moment here. Since Monday 12th is a public holiday im sure most of the SAU guys could swing down to freo, maybe have a few biru at Little Creatures or something? Wander round on the waterfront there is pretty good now. Might wanna check out around the E Shed area for the markets etc.

Im sure we could teach the girls some english as well as some colloquialisms.

Bewdy Bonza! :)

Whats there to be jealous about Ben? It's not like the 4 Jap girls are part of my harem or anything.

Well, it sounds like you've got a plan there... so are some of the Perth SAU massive up for meeting with us on the Monday?

Hehehe Harem. So your holding out on us and not bringing the harem over? LOL :)

Nah, not really jealousy, its just after seeing the photo diary and things like the blue DRFT car around the corner from ya in Kobe, it makes me wanna experience Japan more and more. The chicks come with the territory I spose.

But then again, whats japan need with another F**KED GAIJIN! ;)

Rezz - yeah Little Creatures is a nice place

i wouldnt exactly call Northbridge dangerous, you have 'isolated' incidents every so often but then again, ppl + alcohol and theres always a chance something would happen..

but so far no problems :) maybe i look dangerous too hahah might get arrested myself lol

    • Fark what are the changes of that snapping like that, clean. Nek minnit, custom radiator goes in, with built in oil cooler like those discontinued PWR ones from yesterdeacades ago
    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
    • What are we supposed to be seeing in the photo of the steering angle sensor? The outer housing doesn't turn, right? All the action is on the inside. The real test here is whether or not your car has had the steering put back together by a butcher. When the steering is centred (and we're not caring about the wheel too much here, we're talking about the front wheels, parallel, facing front) then you should have an absolutely even number of turns from centre to left lock and centre to right lock. If there is any difference at all then perhaps the thing has been put back together wrongly, either the steering wheel put on one spline (or more!) off, and the alignment bodged to straighteb the wheel, or the opposite where something silly was done underneath and the wheel put back on crooked to compensate. Nut there isn't actually much evidence that you have such a problem anyway. It is something you can easily measure and test for to find out though. My money is still on the HICAS CU not driving the PS solenoid with the proper PWM signal required to lighten the load at lower speed. If it were me, I would be putting either a multimeter or oscilloscope onto the solenoid terminals and taking it for a drive, looking for the voltage to change. The PWM signal is 0v, 12V, 0V, 12v with ...obviously...modulated pulse width. You should see that as an average voltage somewhere between 0V and 12V, and it should vary with speed. An handheld oscilloscope would be the better tool for this, because they are definitely good enough but there's no telling if any cheap shit multimeter that people have lying around are good enough. You can also directly interfere with the solenoid. If you wire up a little voltage divider with variable resistor on it, and hook the PS solenoid direct to 12V through that, you can manually adjust the voltage to the solenoid and you should be able to make it go ligheter and heavier. If you cannot, then the problem is either the solenoid itself dead, or your description of the steering being "tight" (which I have just been assuming you mean "heavy") could be that you have a mechanical problem in the steering and there is heaps of resistance to movement.
