Ouch, that is got to hurt man. Such a nice looking chaser too. Hopefully for your brother's sake I hope that the car was insured and had an alarm/immobilizer. How can he get in a chase with the cops and then have the time to burn the car??

the cops chased the car for 5 mins then called it off, not sure how long after that it was burnt

he said on ns.com that it was not insured..

now that has definitely got to hurt badly. Its a simple thing that might cost your $150 per month yet some people still don't get it insured. Not trying to rub salt into wounds here but given the latest trend in Jap Imports being targeted, people who own imports should take extra caution and get an alarm (if you don't have one already) and secondly get it insured. In this case if found burnt well you get something back if insured.

poor theo~.....nice MT chaser..... i know u brother...just saw his jzx100 1 months ago on where he works....

that was coincidence both of our cars stolen around the same or close area my M35 stolen in mile end...u brother's jzx100 stolen in richmond not far and the timing close to .....mate.....

Catbig .. don't forget my 34 stolen down the road at fulham and then torched at mile end. Only a week and a bit ago..

those western suburbs seem to be targeted the most so keep your cars safe guys .. even if you're visiting a mate there for an as little as an hour.

It def seems to be happening in the western suburbs alot lately and 9 times out of 10 it's our indigenous friends that are responsible.

I don't understand for the life of me why Sapol won't set up a bait car (import) in these areas like they do regularly in the US with consistently great result

EDIT: Whether or not it's legal or condoned by the law makers of this country, it's only a matter of time before the public sets up a bait import with a van full of baseball bat carriers nearby :domokun:

We should just get someone to wire a rolling shell so that when the ignition is switched all the doors dead lock :) I'm sure we can all pitch in and pay for a truck to tow it to our location of choice.. then we just play the waiting game :)

Same concept of catching a mouse with that sticky glue stuff :P

Saw the car half burnt on a truck today on Hanson Rd..

Bait by sapol? do they care enough?

Sapol used to have BAIT VL calais that lurked around the bay back in the day

It was pretty obvious tho, they left the keys in the drivers door with a very bright key tag on it.

Rolled past it in my dodge on multiple occassions and set the alarm off on purpose, not 10 sec later Sapol would be coming round the corner.

  • 3 months later...

They had a white vs down the bay( pretty new then..think 98 -99 ) with pioneer headunit, stack of CDs on seats and laptop .. Windows down keys left in it.. Was in magic mt car park all the time and random side streets! Stuck out like Døgs balls lol

Reckon the idea is great but went out the window :domokun:

    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
