Can i fone a friend?thanks fo yo help.The one on the car at the moment is 400 by 260 by 65 measuered inside the end tanks.And ive been told that it would not be efficienct enough to cool inlet temps when i am in the chase for more horsepower.

How much power are you chasing? I definately don't know Intercooler size to power requierments, it all depends on the position, type and size.

The standard cooler is about half the size and can cope with about 180rwkw at the wheels so I would say that a 400 by 260 by 65 could cope with 250rwkw+.

Maybe but besides that the core has a rock crease in it.And its a big rock crease by the way and i was looking at replacing it anyway.I want to get a hybrid maybe their prices arnt to bad and they performance is exceptional?give me a day and i might be able to find out how they measure size to horsepower..... :P

Well i was told by con @ c&v performance...Well first i told him that i was chaseing arround 390hp @ the engine and he said ''the bigger the better''.And i said ''how big'' n he said 300 by 600 by 90.U c the bigger the drop in inlet temps the easier its gonna be to make safe power.He also said that its better when playing with the timing to have cooler inlet temps and there is less chance of detonation when running high ammounts o booosto.

So thats it the bigger the better. :alien:

what psi will you be running when the bigger fmic is fitted, as a mate put a larger core in and lost 6psi from 22psi so there may be a small drop to expect too. oh yeah he used a supra core so it was semi quality!!

Theres no big turbo yet im just thinkin about it my car is gettin a respray a kit and maybe a front mount if there is any money left.A bigger turbo is still a future mod.I think i agree with u mcboost that coola is more than ample for a 390hp @ motor in the future.

just bougth a 300 x 600 x 76 from the intercoolguy and they have pressure drop of only .2 psi (yes that is POINT 2) and the whole thing end to end is 800 x 600 x 76

he makes good stuff

:rofl::rofl: :elaugh: :spcartman

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
    • So 10/10 times that code is coil packs? I mean if that's the case ill drop the $400USD or so to replace them. I didn't know these cars threw codes before the issue became an issue.
