Hi Guys

Haven't been here for a while, how are you guys?

Anyways, i thought i might share with you guys my second attempt at installing a car pc. Even though the first time installed ok, i kinda think i was just pushing it a bit by force mounting the lcd on the dash pocket. This time i got a double din LED and took out the head unit. Looks a lot more cleaner and i can view it under direct sunlight! I'm still using the eeepc setup and still saving up for a proper pc with dc to dc psu. At the moment i'm using a Metra double din kit, which IMO is a little tacky and the buttons are a pain to press. But that's all i could afford back then.

Major improvements over the old setup include : OBD gauges, Bluetooth, Soundblaster X-FI (made a whole lot of difference to the audio quality) direct wiring instead of cigarette lighter plug :yucky:, and the latest version of Centrafuse (3.5)

Some technical specs for those of you interested:

- Lilliput EBY701 + ByByte double din frame

- eeepc 901 , 2gb ram, 64GB kingspec ssd

- SB X-Fi Pro USB Soundard

- Blazt II OBD Scanner / reader

- Sirf III GPS dongle

Btw, my old JVC AVX-910 is now for sale. For anyone interested PM me, Price : $400 Ono. This baby can play most files no worries and have an excellent audio quality. Originally bought 2 years ago for $750.

Hi, I have basically finished my PC (built and Installed software) and its ready to plug into and mount in my car this weekend; finally!.

One of the peripherals is the Blazt cable. My PC will be mounted in the boot, with USB cables running into the cabin connecting things like my OBD. My concern is that the USB cable run may be a bit long for the Blazt cable. Even though USB2 is defined as having a 5m maximum length, I think the blatzt cable is said have a recommendation of being no greater than 2m from the USB port; It comes with a 2m cable.

My question, how long is your distance between the Blazt cable and the PC? and have you had any problems with this length?

Hey

I pretty much have the same setup. I ran 3 5M USB extension lead from the boot to the glovebox at the front. The blazt is connected to one of the port.

No problems whatsoever. It's just as responsive as when you hook it up straight to a laptop :)

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
