MAS Info....

Hey All,

For those of us who are ignorant to MAS ( I know what it is, by the way :-) )

How do I purchase tickets and whatever to it? And how do I get a map and details of how to get there, like what trams to catch from Flinders St or Spencer St stations? or could I walk to it from them?

I would like to go this year but I don't know melbourne too well or have ever been to an Auto Salon, let alone a Melbourne one :-)

Cheers

Corey.

You can catch plane, bus, train to Melbourne.

From there, you need to get to the melbourne exhibition and convention centre.

(not far from Spencer St station)

Go here for maps

You can buy tickets on the day you attend, at the ticket box, or you can bypass the ticket box and buy tickets at machines along the walls of the centre.

:D

The line last year was rather long - so best to get in early.

The event is help in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre (Jeff's Shed) in Southbank - over the road from the Casino.

You can't miss it :D

after we'd waited about half an hour in line, an attendant came up to us and said that we could purchase tickets from the vending machines.

I guess if you don't know the machines are there, then you'd just wait in line.

Only bonus to waiting in line, was that you got a free magazine [sarcasm]*hoorah*[/sarcasm] and a useless autosalon card.

this year i'll be using the vending machine to bypass the ticket line.

thanks heaps or all the replies peoples!

I know how to get to southbank from spencer/flinders, I Just didn't know where MAS was actually held! hehe

one more question...what time does it open? and what time should I try to get there to actually get in and not stand around, by myself, like a doosh-bag. hehe

All I can say to help is, just make sure you do your research on where ever you get the work quoted/done.

Dont always go on what people say, as I have found out that, for myself, sometimes all the hype and praise does not match the actual service you recieve.

I would imagine an exhaust place could do the piping for you no worries...? I think I remember reading a thread a while ago about a place in Oakley that is supposed to be quite good, an exhaust place ofcourse :-)

Dont know if that thread was lost in the infamous server crash or not...hehe

The massive length of the queue is why there is 2 MAS events this year, this has to be a good thing and here's hoping that SAU wins best car club...... if we're in the running for it, as we're really a bunch of nutbags that chat online!!!!
