Lamington Park Rd? Do you mean somewhere around Canungra - up towards O'Reilly's or is there a different road in mind?

I've just come back from Springbrook today and that's a very twisty road, but too tight to really open it up. Mt Mee is much better in that regard IMO. Not sure about Lamington tho. Do you have a map link for it?

OK, so it looks like that was the road where I took my picture from & posted it in the other thread. Now I look like a dill for not knowing where that was  .

Closer to home for me & somewhere different. Gets my vote. But Mt Mee was very good......

I'm open to any Sunday, Saturday my wife plays soccer. I just havent been on a cruise in a long time and as a member of sau I think that is a bit sad. Like minded people should be meeting up and talking garbage.

well it seems there's no interest in a cruise except us 3. there is 5 votes, but with a week till the prefered date its looking shakey. every1 musy be busy

Yeah, looks like you, me, Steven & 2 unknown voters. If the votes for best date is anything to go by, there's only going to be 2 or 3 cars on the cruise :( .

To me, 3 cars a cruise doesn't make, lol. See what happens in the next few days, but it's looking more like a postponing to a later date is likely.

Is there any interest in making a weekend of it and driving to Sydney for the 15 year anniversary event on October long weekend instead?

A few weeks ago there was lots of interest, what happened? Looks like the wife and I will just go for a cruise alone then. Il definately be interested when something gets organized, I'm just not good at planning routes.

Il be in sydney for toyotafest on the 2nd of October lol, not sure if im driving or flying yet though. I'd prefer to drive the stag down but the fuel cost might be out weighed by the cheap flights.

I usually find the tipping point is about 3 people, certainly 4. With only 2 it's almost always cheaper to fly. But, if you take the Stag you could do the cruise.....

Yeah, what did happen with all the previous enthusiasm? I agree with Ray. Try for later & also leave it up to someone who knows how to rally the troops (Darrin?).

i would consider the cruise but toyotafest is on the same day :/ at the moment with my 3000rpm redline im getting about 15l/100km on the highway so probably $450/$500 in fuel down and back pending fuel isnt over $1.70 a litre in sydney, flights are roughly $600 plus accomodation plus rental car so driving it is :D.

il be watching this space waiting for the next cruise.

What kind of power are you putting down now?

I'm still stuck on a run in tune, getting 250 awkw running 12 pounds. Will try and make it out Saturday (if Im not too hungover from a party Im going to Friday).

Shit. I'm only after 250kw and that's your run in tune. How does it go??

Not enough power for me just yet, before I did the rebuild it was pushing 280, my original goals where somewhere closer to 350 and I might get close time will tell. Though reading up on these BW EFR turbos I am starting to think a set of 6258 twin high mounts would be even better with potential for 450+.

The twin plate and nismo diffs are taking some getting used to, its grippy as all hell and loads of fun to drive up in the hills. It doesn't feel like the boosted barge anymore in the handling dept, I also did some suspension work getting the Tein Superflex wagon and some other bits and pieces through Fulcrum.

The Kakimoto full mega N1 exhaust sounds awesome and the cams are lumpy.... looking forward to getting the full tune and taking it out to Lakeside. I think there's something on at the end of August... will definitely be hitting that up, I got a Nitto oil pump and high octane sump extension too so I could safely track the car.

Sadly my budget isn't as big as yours, I'm just hoping that 250 is enough to keep my happy for a few years, I was pretty happy with the stock power considering how my stagea handles but I guess when I get some suspension work I might aim a bit higher, I would love to see your car on the track some time.

Yeah I might have to put those other plans on hold for a little while, I'm broke now and have about 6 weeks left in my current contract. I also found out the other week I'm going to be a dad too so I need to inject some funds into the girl dept and put a ring on her finger. Thankfully the market is really good at the moment in IT so I shouldn't have any problems getting another job at the end of next month.

Not as much as wanted

348rwhp or 258rwkw at 17psi

tried 19psi only made 2 hp more. Have restriction somewhere to sort out. They think exh manifold.

300rwkw will be its max

It is only 20hp more than before on 16psi, but they found a huge 45-50hp right thru the mid range where you needed it

Pulls alot better now and will light up all 4 tyres on launch. :D

The 1/4 mile will be the real test to see the difference from last time

Hmmm could be interesting when I finish mine then, be good to compare the 26 with 250kw to my 25 with 250kw

Are you on the road dude? I'm going out this evening, meeting a mate inner city with a GTR.. going to be heading out of the city after that. PM if interested and I'll pass on time and place.

I should be off the run in tune in a little over a week should I get the k's in over the weekend.

    • I had 3 counts over the last couple of weeks once where i got stranded at a jdm paint yard booking in some work. 2nd time was moving the car into the drive way for the inspection and the 3rd was during the inspection for the co2 leak test. Fix: 1st, car off for a hour and half disconnected battery 10mins 4th try car started 2nd, 5th try started 3rd, countless time starting disconnected battery dude was under the hood listening to the starting sequence fuel pump ect.
    • This. As for your options - I suggest remote mounting the Nissan sensor further away on a length of steel tube. That tube to have a loop in it to handle vibration, etc etc. You will need to either put a tee and a bleed fitting near the sensor, or crack the fitting at the sensor to bleed it full of oil when you first set it up, otherwise you won't get the line filled. But this is a small problem. Just needs enough access to get it done.
    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
