The number I quoted was from the horses mouth (John??) when Whiteline replaced the rear bar on the RS4S all those years ago because the first one didn't fit. Admittedly the number is from memory. I am not sure whether they tested the factory bar or not but I reckon it was his best guess.

It will be interesting to see what Whiteline come back with.

Dude, not disagreeing with you on this at all. I'm sure you are right on the money.

There was a spreadsheet I saw a while back on the forum; but I can't seem to dig it up right now.

Hmmm. I'm guessing the rear ones are 260RS compatible (since you list 2WD). Can you confirm?

The 260RS has the narrow subframe right? The rear will be fine if that's the case.

In reply to those concerned about the suitability of the GB bars for Auto applications; I've appropriated some images to illustrate the difference. The knowledgable C34 owners have told me the difference in width is 50mm (wider on Autos, narrow on manuals) the bar is narrow to suit the GTR subframe.

Disregard the text; it relates to the thread length on the links from the original thread.

As you can see the links do sit at an angle, but using the H/D Ball Links in the GB would see them not anywhere near as stressed; due to there increased articulation.

The horizontal thread is 35mm in length, what I'm proposing is for those that need it; I will supply a pair of 12mm long Stainless Steel spacers to fit on the thread to correct the angular misalignment.

This will still leave plenty of thread to lock the nuts on and the thread is High Tensile anyway (no bending). It won't completely eliminate the misalignment, but it will drastically reduce it. They'll cost $10.

Let me know what you think.

Thus far, there have been no orders made for bars; I am surprised at the lack of interest. The C34 Stagea owners that have bars fitted appear very satisfied with the results and have been very encouraging; I am at a loss to know why others would not the same benefit.

Cheers, Dale.

Hi Dale

I am interested in these but unlikely to have the money before the 15th (waiting on the tax man). What would I be looking at for a full kit posted to Tassie 7250?

Thanks

Tim

Hey Tim, PM sent.

how much are they if you double up that tassie postage?

I'm limited to 20kg max, by auspost. A pair of bars swings in at 14kg. Give me a postcode, & I'll PM you; it's cheaper than you think.

Cheers, Dale.

    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools.
