Help Yellow Stickered

Hey guys,

So on my way to work this morning got stopped by the po po..

and yup they slapped me with a yellow lickey!

All they want me to do is go over the pits to get permits but have nothing wrong with the car!

i got pinged for my tyre gaps being too close low to the guards (dont even have coilovers)?? didnt know there was a law for it,

just thought there was a ride height law and the tyres clear my guards never rubs??

And also Blow off valve are they legal or not?

even stock turbo cars have a blow off valve. so they are not illegal to have on your car.

is it an aftermarket one?

i'm pretty sure even an aftermarket blow off valve would be legal as long as it is all plumbed back into the system and not venting into the atmosphere.

i didnt think there was a law about how close your tyres are to your guards either. i though you had to have a minimum level of clearance on the bottom of your car (100mm) in NSW i think.

it might have different springs on standard shock which would lower the height? not 1005 sure on ride height laws..its probably different in every state..might have to confirm with someone from WA

Thanks leer34 yeah its 100mm in wa from lowest point of the car but ive never heard of a specific clearance between tyre n guard.. And jimmy I got done at 7.20 in bayswater nice way to start a tuesday morning.. Haha

Easiest thing to do... Take it over the pits and let them tell you what needs doing.

Is yours a white or black R34 coupe by any chance? I often spot both a black and a white R34 coupe around the Bayswater area going to work in the morning.

This is also where I 'almost' got done.

fix/hide anything you think your going to get picked on for then go over pits and hopefully things will be ok. cops make up there own rules to get you to got over.

as for the height, i heard that it has to be 120mm from the lowest point so it will be 100mm with full car and tank

dont mean to be picky BUT Stock cars dont have BOVs . . .they are called recirculation valves

Get it inspected then get permits for everything you need to. The RTA down here gave me permits and didnt even look over the car

Plumback bovs are ok. If you don't have your stock bov you can block off the plumback just for the pitts. It should not make anywhere near as much noise as a atmo bov.

This is why you guys need to educate yourselves and exercise your rights.

Gap too small between tyre and guard? I'd ask to be shown that law on the spot. I'd make the police officer get whatever book he can pull out to show me the law that I'd be breaking. Stand up for yourselves out there guys!

Haha rowan so true and whats annoying is cops say one thing n the pits say another! The system is fckd..haha the saying goes you get hasseled by the cops more for driving a nice car then you do for murder..

This is spot on and the reason i have never been given a yellow sticker even though having them look under my bonnet many many times....

Had the car over 4 years with stereo, FMIC, POD, low ride, zorst, EBC in sight all the usual mods you see and they try to find anything and i make them explain.... one cop even tried to get more for not having an accessable spare tyre until i proved him that it come straight out even with the subs in the boot un-moved....

know the law and question the police as they need to be able to back themselves.... and best of all record the whole conversation on your phone for evidence works a treat when you go show their supervisor that they are tools and have to appologise to you

Yeh not true. My mate got in a lot of trouble for recording a conversation with a police officer. What's more, when he took them to court, his recorded evidence was dismissed as it was 'not acquired lawfully'.

one rule for the coppers and one rule for everyone else. . .correct me if im wrong BUT chrysler 300Cs dont have a spare tyre? just a can of FIX A FLAT?
